how cheap is "cheap"? what's your budget? my choices of cars would be a corolla gli, mazda 323 and nissan sentra.

that would definitely be a civic.
  • civic coz mas madaming choices of after market parts?
  • yeah the aftermarket industry (makers of aftermarket parts & accessories for cars) has defintely embraced the civic.

though the corolla , sentra & lancer has their fair share of available accessories in the market too.

I believe the term is MODIFICATION.

If you're looking in terms of engine swaps, Toyota engines seem to go cheaper than Hondas. The choice Toyota 4A-GE power units are around PhP20K cheaper than the choice Honda B16As IIRC.

As for which cars are "okey" for modification Corollas and Civics would be it. There are also communities for modification of 323s/Lynxes, Lancers and Sentras though.

Don't you have a car in mind already? Narrow down your choices first. What do you want? Sedan? Hatch? Wagon? Van? etc...

What does 'pagandahin' mean? Looks ba ang habol mo or true hardware modification?

Yun Modification nga ang term... Sorry na curious lang kasi ako dahil I see a lot of old cars na napapaganda...ive seen honda na hatchback alam ko lumang model gumanda... tas mga corolla din...siguro cheapest corolla...when I say cheapest...cheapest tlga...kasi atleast kung magkamali man ako wlang nasayang na money...nope I dont have a car in mind... I plan to go about it kasi naaliw lang ako plus that would be a great accomplishment for me.....
  • ^ That would be one nice project :yum: The civic is a hands-down favorite when it comes to these things, afaik. :)

in that case then a civic hatch is the car for you. but it doesn't have power steering yet. but you can install one if you plan an engine swap in the future.

just post your questions here, a lot of people could help you so you wont waste money on useless modifications.
  • they are correct, go with the civic hatchback. i belive there is a thread here about what to set up in a civic hatchback. Althought it is a bit pricey, its a really nice car to modify. and chick look cute driving a modified hatchback.
  • Hmmm actually thats what I want to do to drive something I modify... okay where do I look for these cars that I can modify? Where do I find them...also besides Honda ano pa ang car na okay imodify and could you let me know the budget so I know what I should prepare....
  • ^ Your location say's you're out of the country. Are you really? If not, used car shops are abound here (pasong tamo area in makati, etc.).
  • Right now im out of the country..but I plan to go back and do that muna to keep me busy...of course at the cheapest possible way.

Banawe will be your best friend. Surplus parts galore.
  • try buying a buy and sell magazine or the classified section of the sunday edition of the bulletin and look for used cars. its cheaper than buying it at a used car lot but the risk are greater.
  • Ok where is Banawe? Guys what are the key things I should be aware of when buying used car? Hmmm baka nakukulitan kyo..I dont wnt to ask people I know kasi I want it to be a surprise when this project of mine gets done.

    Banawe is in Quezon City.

I'm not familiar with the place itself, but I've read articles and heard from friends. Car parts are usually cheapest and most available there. Surplus parts too (including engines, power steering assemblies, suspensions) are a fixture there.

Just take precautions going there because your car might end up having one less side mirror...some vendors there are too eager to make a buck at the expense of others, if you catch my drift.
