Meguiar's Car Wax

Does anybody know where to buy a Meguiar's Car Wax in the Cavite-Las Pinas-Alabang-Makati area?

I've tried it before, & it seems to be a pretty good brand, based on my experience, as well as by word-of-mouth from people I know. But I am having problems finding stocks anywhere. Any information provided will be highly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with that area but you can get them from any True Value shop.

If you happen by the QC area, go directly to the dealer (Simex) and you can get it cheaper by the "Ketchup Bottle". :)

I also use Meg. It's not the super very best if you'd ask the hard core detailers but it does the job very well and i'm satisfied (Turtle wax can't come near). I use either the Yellow wax or the 3 in one (green wax)

Just curious, what would the hardcore detailers consider as the, "...super very best..."? Also, where to buy it, & how much?

It boils down to preference (ease of application, longevity of shine, protection offered, etc...). There are some waxes (I'm sorry as i cant remember the name) that arent available locally that i read got very good reviews on the detailing local detailing board.

Meg is quite good if you were to compare it with the other waxes available locally and if you can buy it by the bottle from the local distributor, quite affordable (i pay around P250.00 per ketchup bottle at Simex and it lasts me more than half a year with 4 cars waxed around every month or so).

Okay, thanks. The last time I used a Meguiar's it was a couple of years ago, & they were selling it at around P350+ already. I used the one in the purple "ketchup" bottle, which I think is the "Classic" type.

If they're selling it at P250 per bottle at Simex, then that's cheaper than what I got before. I'll look around at "True Value Stores" around the area, but can you give me directions how to get to Simex Q.C. also? Just the address will be fine, with phone no. will be even better if available. I plan to drop by one of these days if I have the chance.

The P250+ (more or less) one is the 3in1 wax and the Yellow Wax. The "3-in-1" is better suited for cars with small scratches that you would want to touch up as this has some polish integrated into it AFAIK. The Yellow Wax is a pure wax (just for shine and sealing). You may also want to get the yellow application foam pads from them as well if you need as they sell it cheaper there too. They also have the Gold Class wax but it's kinda pricey.

They're along Kamias Road in QC. If you're on EDSA coming from Makati, after you pass the underpasses in Cubao, go under the Kamuning/East Ave Flyover and make a right on Kamias... just go straight past 3 stop lights and you'll find it near the end of Kamias to your right side. :)

Meguiar's is good stuff. I use Meguiar's Quick Detail when I put my car in a car show for a quick shine. However, I exclusively use Zymol products (clay bar, wax, wash, etc...) and have been very pleased with the results. I wax my car twice a year. Zaino Bros products are also very good and is used by many upscale detailers that work on many exotics.

I don't know if or where they sell these products in the Philippines, but I'm pretty sure that you can order this stuff online.

Here in Oz, the best stuff is called Autoglym. Most of the people in the showcar circuit use it. But meguiars is more popular. Autoglym is twice-three times more expensive than meguiars here.

cant help about where you can find the stuff though.

We use Meguiars ("Yellow Wax" or "2 in 1") for our cars. We're quite happy with it... Get it for around P250 or so in a ketchup bottle from Simex Trading in Kamias (the Phil distributor).

My sis got a black Exalta some two years ago... The paint was in bad shape but we had it detailed and it came out good as new. To maintain the shine, we wax it once a month. Don't forget to use the proper materials as well to minimize scratches (terry towel, foam applicator pad, etc.).
  • how bout best way to remove those swirl marks?

A wax job can remove it temporarily for a few weeks... A detail job (polish, etc) can remove it for a longer period, especially if you maintain it afterwards.
  • yup i had a level 3 detailing on my car's exterior i spent p1945 for the service.. and i'm impress, makintab na ulit ang car ko (like new) and the dents and scratches hidden. sabi lang sa akin if your gonna wash the car tubig lang don't use soap kundi sayang pinadetail mo..... RAIN bring it on!!

Be careful with a 3-step detail job though... it thins or removes the paint's top coat/clear coat significantly. This can only be done once in the lifetime of the paint coat... Waxing the car regularly is highly recommended if this is done.

Whats nice also if your car is regularly waxed is that it's much easier to clean and remove the dirt after the rains. :)

Yup... almost the same banana except that it's not sold in the commercial container but in a ketchup bottle (one would last me around half a year of waxing 4 cars once a month).
  • I've been using this wax for some time now and the first thing I noticed is that it smells good  No kidding, it really does :)
  • where can i buy this P250. nanghihinayang ako dun sa P695. not to mention 3 steps sya consisting of 3 bottles.
