Ako din my vote goes to the Jazz...I'm just so damn curious about the car. Matagal ko na syang minamataan eh, even when it was still called the "Fit" in Japan. Just having the adaptable cargo loading capability makes it a keeper for me as no other car has it in the market.

However the Picanto's a very tempting buy. If you don't mind having 64 hp of 1.1L power and want a cute and decent city runabout, it's a steal! For the price of a fully-kitted Jazz CVT you can get two Picantos. :)

Yun nga lang would you want to take a gamble with Kia's after-sales support? That's pretty much the only question mark in an otherwise solid car :)
  • The Jazz is much larger than the other two so of course if I got the money, I'd go for the Jazz. However if I got less than 400k, Picanto na...(no choice din naman hehe).

so_obVIOS is right, mas maluwag yung Jazz :)

The Picanto has a smaller cabin by comparison, much like the Echo's. It seems a good one for carrying 5 warm bodies though.

Sadly I don't think one can ferry 5 people and heavy grocery shopping in a Picanto at once. Either two people have to commute home, or some of the grocery bags have to go :(

I'll take the Picanto. It's a no-frills car at a really low price. Makes for a great second car.
  • ^ I agree. If it's just for a second car which I will use for coding days and weekend trips to the grocery by myself, my vote goes to the Picanto...yun eh kung may pera hahaha....but since wala, MRT na lang for coding days :D

For the price of one Jazz you can get two Picanto's. Wow! I'll take the two Picanto's anytime. You can use them alternately para iwas coding. How often do you have 5 passengers in a car anyway? Or how often can you fill a Jazz with groceries? Most of the cars I see on the road usually only have 1 passengers onboard. Some only have the driver on it. Let's be practical for a change! Hindi puro porma!
  • Picanto for me! :) It's much more affordable and tipid pa sa gas

A picanto would work for me in most days, but wen my folks visit here, naku! baka abot bubong ang bagahe ehehe:D
  • Honda Jazz, it has more room, from what I have heard from another website ang highway driving niya it can consume 21km/liter, city driving mga 10km/liters. While the Picanto maganda siya pero small fuel consumption mas ok but safety features niya still questionable.
  • OT: I finally had my first picanto sighting last saturday  It was white with black bumpers. Cute little thing :)

I saw a Picanto convoy on my way home one evening about a month or so ago. I guess galing sa pier or something. I saw all possible colors. And they're so cute! I mean, really.

But I still want a Jazz - but the Picanto is still very tempting.
  • For the price of a jazz, I can buy a picanto and a good second hand 1.6 liter car. if you want to save on fuel, use the picanto. you need not be affected by color coding also, and your second hand 1.6 liter car can outrun a jazz anytime.

a jazz is way overpriced! the supposed savings on gasoline is offset by its price.

I think the Jazz is priced fair IMO, it's one helluva good car. And if you compare a Honda's quality to a Kia, you may have to expect more visits to a mechanic if you have the latter.

OT: Regarding the second hand 1.6, you also have to think about maintenance. You can't find a 1.6 that's still on warranty selling under 300k.
  • I saw another Picanto. Orange/Rust this time with body colored bumpers. Ganda!

Try passing by Kia Motors Quezon Avenue showroom. As of yesterday afternoon, they have 3 Kia Picanto units on display: orange, blue, and green. The orange and blue units have body colored door handles while the green unit had black door handles. Does this mean the Picanto can be had at different trim levels with corresponding price levels?

By the way, is there an automatic transmission available for the Picanto?

I'm still for the Jazz - I think resale value wise, it won't probably depreciate as fast as the Picanto and the Echo.
