The Altis for me.
One look at the interiors says it all. Di ko type yung interior ng Vios. Even compared to the City it looks the more plasticky of the two; what more if compared to the slush-moulded soft-touch dash of the Altis?
Medyo masikip din siya in terms of general interior room.
That's just me though.0 -
best vios (MT) is more or less 100k cheaper than the most "basic" altis
mga mid 600k and mid 700k ang price nung two
****
and another thing, why cant toyota put up its price in the website like honda does? it is my impression tuloy that honda dealers are more "networked".0 -
comparing apples to oranges...
but i'd pick the Altis... simply because it is much bigger and from my perception, a compact sedan is more stable and firm-grounded than a subcompact.0 -

Those are two different vehicles with two distinct markets. That's why Toyota can afford to manufacture them both.
I'd take the Corolla (Altis) over the Vios anytime. The vios does not even have a fuel (or was it temp) gauge diba?
Between the two, if I only got around P600T, I'd go for the top spec Vios. If I got P700T or more, it would be the Corolla (Altis).
If I got P1M, i'll take 1 vios and 1 picanto pang coding haha0 -
Nanggaling yang "engine temp light" sa predecessor ng Vios...the Echo.
Because the Echo/Vitz/Yaris basically donates its platform to the Vios it has many of its mechanicals din. The engines are exactly the same.
Note that the Echo/Vitz/Yaris is a hatchback. In other markets, particularly Japan, the Vios is called the "Platz."0 -
^ Kunsabagay the City and Jazz also have the same "engine temp light" found in the Echo and Vios.
Cost cutting? Perhaps. I don't know about this, but maybe such things aren't really relevant to most drivers, that's why they made more space for the gauges that do need monitoring...0 -
Idiot lights are cheaper than actually putting in a gauge. Losing volts and oil pressure was bad enough. Now drivers are not even allowed to know the temperatures of their own engine and have to rely on something that looks straight out of a cellphone display to monitor how much fuel they have. hehehehe.
Space is not really a problem. Nissan and Toyota can integrates them into the relatively small clusters of the Patrol and Land Cruiser.0 -
i agree, the "cost-cutting" has gone too far with the elimination of the temp gauge0
