    Cost might be a consideration.
  • Actually, dun sa hospital where my mom is working right now karamihan ng mga head nurse are from the philippines. They come from different schools... Silliman University, FEU, even EAC. lahat sila magagaling.. sila pa yung mga boss d2. and the americans really respect them alot! mas intensive ang training sa philippines kaya i chose it. and here....sobrang tagal ng wait list.. inaabot ng 2 years to get into the nursing program. kulang kasi mga nursing instructors here kaya may wait list. only 30% of all the nurses in the us have a degree higher than bsn.. karamihan aassociates degree in nursing lang ang natapos. here to be able to teach, you need a masters degree. kung ayaw ko nmn mghintay sa w8list i have the option nmn to go to a private university... and you know how much it's gonna cost me,, tuition alone...$30k .. dats about 1.5 million php lang nmn.. ndi pa kasama books ($500) tapos dorm ($600/month). by the time i finish college baon na ako sa student loan.. ayoko nga nun.
so, compared to makati med na Php 35k/sem.. wala yun sa tuition here sa states. one more thing, even yung salary ng mga nursing grads sa manila and states pareho lang. mag double job ka lang dito pag RN ka na you can earn more than $100k in a year.. thats like 5.6 million pesos.. nurse lang yun na bachelors ah.. aabot ng $200k++ pag may PHD ka. kaya yan ang reason kung bakit maraming nag-nursing sa pinas.

never heard that story.... ganun?!? well siguro nga...

    goodluck!
  • UP manila is my first choice.. kaya lang i havent taken the UPCAT yet..and i called the school, sabi nila nung August pa raw yung testing..so even if i wanna apply, d rin pwede kc tapos na.

question lang, nursing student ka rin ba? which school? Im also considering FEU. I didnt know na sa QC yung school na yun.. akala ko sa university belt.

right now, im looking at the following schools:
    1.UST
    2. FEU
    3. St. Louis
    4. Makati Med
    5. San Juan de Dios
    6. St. Luke's
    7. Southville

D ko pa rin ma-decide where i wanna study, gusto ko makati med kc accessible sa place namin.. near sa mall and ok nmn yung environment.

    anyway, thnx sa mga insights.
  • go for UST, it's highly regarded in the states. just say "Yo wazzzup you need a nurse? Im from the royal and pontifical university of asia!" and you automatically get employed there. yan ang sabi sabi sa school. the best!
  • You should also check out CEU, EAC, St. Jude and Global. They're among the most underrated Nursing schools around.
  • do you happen to know global's website addy?

FEU-NRMF (Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation). it's in Fairview. sa may Dahlia, Fairview sya. Nandito naka-base yung Institute of Medicine nila. Weird lang kasi meron silang Institute of Nursing sa Manila. pero I will reiterate na magkaiba daw ang Nursing ng FEU at FEU-NRMF.

di po ako nursing. but i have lots of friends in UP Nursing. kaya marami ako alam sa curriculum nila.

sa ranking mo ng schools, ok yung ranking nung top 4. wala na ako alam dun sa ibang school.
  • if i hav a choice nga i would go to UPManila..most of my cousins, friends, aunts dun nag-grad. anyway, so dalawa nursing schools ng FEU?? one in manila and another in fairview?
  • Manila Doctors Hospital also has its own Nursing School.
  • maybe you want to visit ched's website at www.ched.gov.ph to know more about nursing schools and its websites.
  • any info on makati med college of nursing will be highly appreciated.. i.e. tuition fee, requirements for admission etc.

Makati Med College of Nursing? or baka Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Memorial School ang sinasabi mo...
  • I study here. I am now a senior in this college of nursing. The tuition fee for freshmen ranges from 45-53k in the first semester. There was NO tuition fee increase. Admission requirements are posted on the tarpaulin outside the college of nursing.

I will be graduating this April and I hope you will be accepted in the roster of successful applicants. By the way, Remedios Trinidad Romualdez memorial school is similar to Makati Medical Center college of nursing.

So far the census of our freshmen this year was only 4 sections, lets say less than 170 students. The graduating students this 2010 will be 227. We have a quota just like any colleges.

The entrance exam is more on the abstract, like an I.Q. test with the sciences.
  • hi to all!! oo ok dito..daming magaganda.

lalo na so janine bonjoc..hi! cute nyan...
