Sorry, I have to ask. I've been checking out Motorcycle Philippines and I've read articles says that bikes are not allowed in the expressways?

Motorbikes with 400cc+ displacement are allowed on expressways. This rule has been in effect for some time now (at least 2 years na). :)

yes.. what he said... anything smaller, they're just plain hazard sa mga motorist.

kahit naman sa states bawal rin ang maliliit na bikes.

well they know the make/ models of the bike diba.. subsequently, they know the displacement rin.

pag one of those brands from china.. well.. uh.. i guess they just base it on how it looks.

Thanks for the info guys. I just read an article kasi and they were arrested for using the expressway and they were on Harley's! Syempre hindi naman maliliit ang displacement nun hehehe.

Siguro ginawa yun nung may ban pa. Salamat po ulit; I'll just switch on my dream mode na lang, kunyari meron akong CBR 600 tapos paakyat ako ng Baguio :) ....haaay!

I'm no expert on motorbikes but I think it's certainly pretty obvious from outside if your bike carries a 400+ cc engine.

Usually yan medyo malaki na at mas malapad ang kaha (what some motorbike books call "middleweights"). Quite readily distinguishable from the usual 100-125cc "mopeds" that are used more in tricycles.
  • paano nila malalaman kung 400+ cc yung bike? Pag hinabol nila para hulihin, pero pagtawanan lang sila nung nakasakay tapos iwanan. 400+ cc na yon :glee:

The PNCC Skyway patrolmen and police have touring-style bikes (you know...the ones with huge front fairings) that are at least 400cc in size IMO.

I don't even know of any touring-style bikes that have engines smaller than 750cc.

Baka it's one of those China made bikes that looks like a Harley!:D There's a lot of them around. At saka bakit naman pinapasok sa tollgate?

There are, actually. And the Philippines has quite a lot. You could find Honda Steeds that have 400cc engines and Suzuki even has Intruders with 250cc powerplants.

But yeah, anything less than 750cc on a cruiser looks downright stupid.

McArthur Hi-way ka na lang dumaan; pass through San Rafael (8 Waves) instead of Calumpit (near expressway. you could also go through here but there's not much view, although it's 30 minutes shorter). once you get to Sta Rosa, turn left to Tarlac. you'll get 30-45 minutes of good road with little cars and ricefields on each side. after that, you'll end up in Metrotown Mall. just follow the buses to baguio.

Really? Thanks for the info...learned something new :D
  • And we're not even talking about the condition that those patrolmen keep their motorcycles in.

Actually the one who wrote the article is an aficionado from the motorcyclephilippines.com forum. Surely they won't be those Harley wannabes ;)

Ewan ko nga kung bakit hinuli e tama naman yung ginawa nila....will check the article again...
  • the yamaha diversion is a sport touring bike so with the kawasaki zzr but they are both in the 400cc class. ANyway a bike must be at leat 400 cc to enter the expresways

Might as well do some shameless plugging...

Saw a black Honda CB400 Version S parked in our school parking lot, seems to be owned by one of the teachers. It's no big bad cruising bike pero ang ganda :)
