Pinoys & the Bahrain Grand Prix

I just found out recently that my friend's dad was one of the engineers in implementing the Bahrain Grand Prix. The lucky fool had (damn) balikbayan boxloads of free Formula 1 stuff and was even offered a trip to watch the first race. He had to decline because of class...

Like... I'd ditch school to watch it live. ;)

Damn! Free seets to an inaugural grand prix? I'd take it without a second thought. I'm still hoping to be able to make it to the Shanghai Grand Prix this September... :D

Sigh... with my my work and budget, kahit mga races lokal di ko na mapuntahan ngayon. :(

My mom also got the chance to watch the Malaysian GP a few years back (and she also had a chance to get an autograph from Schumi but some last minute sked changes made her miss it).... and she didnt even appreciate it much. All she could describe to me was the noise the cars made.

One of my dreams would be to watch one of the Euro GP's and maybe hack a ride on the Nurburgring. :)

Lucky dude...too bad he had to miss it. Bahrain GP 2004 was pretty nice watching IMO :)
  • According to him his dad works at this building. Talk about an office with a view. ;)

It's not a sure thing yet. A friend of a friend said that they might be able to arrange it but it's still very iffy... I'm trying not to get my hopes up just yet. I've got my fingers crossed though, so well... never know. :D

not watching a gp because of school??? maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. *shakes head* and boxloads of free f1 stuff? geez, kahit payong na f1 masaya na ko e.
  • i missed a week of school to watch the malaysian gp last 2001, i went nuts shopping for F1 goodies there...F1 stuff sold here in the philippines are INSANE in terms of pricing.

schumi cap from sepang is equivalent to P1200, schumi cap here/racegear? P3,800...thats crazy

im planning to watch shanghai maybe next year...but i still dream of watching it live in monaco :)
  • tifosi_1 was that the first or second malaysian gp? I was able to watch the 2nd one and met a few pinoys there. saw bongbong marcos watching at the first half of the starting grid.
