No. It reminds me so much of the Toyota Scion. In any case, panget talaga ng design. Something I wouldn't want to buy...
  • Yes! If it was a dollar.

heck yeah!!! you wanna be different?! buy one of these!!
  • LOL! The name hit the target.... "Cube"! hahahahaha!

    NOPE!!!

Though its probably a different vehicle... I'd rather have Jeep Wrangler!
  • I heard that they are going to bring that over to the U.S.

    Why not?

I've heard good news about the car. Not an exciting drive but it's a nice set of wheels to tool around town in.

Don't miss the e-4WD feature...that's a handy little trinket the Cube has for slippery conditions.

If you're familiar with the new Nissan Micra (of Europe and Japan), the Cube runs basically the same mechanicals.

According to Autocar UK, the 1.3L engine puts out around 95 bhp and puts it out to the front wheels through Nissan's Hyper CVT, IIRC. (This seems like the same engine as on the current 1.3 Sentra.) It's smooth at low revs, but gets coarse when you push it too hard.

The Cube can also be ordered with the e-4WD system. Unlike many part-time automatic 4WD systems which use mechanical couplings to drive the back wheels (e.g. Honda's Real Time 4WD system on the CR-V uses a system of clutches), e-4WD makes use of an electric motor to drive the back wheels so it doesn't impede on interior space.

The Cube's seats are benches front and rear, IIRC. The shifter is column-mounted.
  • kinda looks like the honda element. i like it

Back to topic...... as long as the specs are as competitive as the xB bakit hindi di ba? More bang for the buck.

Yeah... In the US, this is a kind of "love it" or "hate it" type of vehicles!

Saw a Honda Element on the road today. Kamukha nga. Looks like Nissan, Toyota, and Honda are competing for a vehicle with this kind of look.

One has to understand where these things come from to understand the reason for the styling. (Well, maybe all but the Honda Element.)

Thing is, Japan has always had small cars (they've had kei-jidousha or K-cars since WW2 finished). Kei-jidousha is literally Japanese for "light cars." Most of them are restricted to 660cc engine displacement and 64bhp power output.

To optimize the space afforded by the many restrictions of K-cars (engine capacity, power output, body size etc.), many manufacturers have resorted to styling them as squarely as they can.

Technically the Cube is no longer a K-car, but it's clearly influenced by the same school of design. Same thing I believe is behind the Scion xB's cuboid design as well.

Try doing a picture search for an esoteric Honda called the "That's" and you'll see more squarish car madness. That was a genuine K-car.

Well, I guess the Japanese are a little more practical than Filipinos, that's why they like it. Filipino puro porma! Saan ka nakakita ng "Owner" na diesel ang makina, na naka-mags, racing stripes, at spoiler pa? Onli in da Pilipins! :D As if those mags & spoilers are going to help! Maski na dito sa Saudi. Pag nakakita ka ng bulok na kotse na naka-racing stripes at naka-mags pa, siguradong Pinoy ang may-ari! :D
