By the Quran, how should Muslims treat Non-Muslims?

DoctorNODoctorNO PEx Veteran ⭐⭐
Ahmed & Albangsamoori,

According to the quran how should muslims treat non-muslims in general?

How should you behave towards Catholics, Hindus, Mormons, Jews, Athiests, Animists & Buddhists?

What should you think of us?

Please provide verses. Thank you. :)

  • Doc, I know you know those verses.
  • Kill them? proof: all the X-muslims i know now are incognito in fear of still-muslims would kill them.

I dont. There is a verse advising to do good to your brother. But that could be a literal brother or a spiritual brother.

    Meron bang advise in general?
  • They would probably behead non-muslims while filming them die. Then, they would probably post the video on the internet for the whole world to see...

Pointed right back at me.

I expect their (sunnis & shias) answers to be quite different from yours (progressive) here.
  • Ganon din ang sagot ko, basta walang kasamang hadith. Nandun din naman ako eh. Uulitin ko lang ang sagot ko dito.:)
  • How would "ordinary" muslims defend their brothers who dedicate their lives to kill "infidels"? Would they disprove of it and condemn these actions or support them? If they disprove of them, how come I haven't heard of it from their main leaders?
  • go to www.salafipublications.com

click the salafee positions towards terrorism

    at the upper most corner

see what the islamic scholars are saying

also if u know arabic then u will know what the muslim leaders are saying

    u probably only watch CNN

As I told you, the Quran states that we can befriend people who do not harm us. Don't single out a verse without considering other verses that explain it. There are instructions that the Messenger explains in the Quran itself. People of the scripture, non-believers (of the scriptures), Nazarenes, Jews are the people in the setting of the Quran. It is the believers against them during a volatile period in their history. It is hard to trust anybody at that time. But the Quran has specifically mentioned that the believers can befriend them only if they mean no harm. People who mean no harm to the believers can be befriended even if they are Hindus, Buddhists, Mormons, etc.

Ok. The quran only forbids the befriending of the non-muslim who mocks Islam. Is that it? Isnt there anything that is completely positive? Any positive obligation towards the rest of us?
  • Whether or not religions specifically supply their believers of certain procedures or rules of treatment of non-believers, all religions foster and encourage a "we against them" mindset that eventually escalate into minor conflicts or full scale war.

For the benefit of those who haven't seen my reply on the bismikaallahuma.org

2:177. It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets; and giveth wealth, for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and to those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor-due. And those who keep their treaty when they make one, and the patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress. Such are they who are sincere. Such are the Allah-fearing.

24:22. And let not those who possess dignity and ease among you swear not to give to the near of kin and to the needy, and to fugitives for the cause of Allah. Let them forgive and show indulgence. Yearn ye not that Allah may forgive you? Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

31:15. And if they contend with you that you should associate with Me what you have no knowledge of, do not obey them, and keep company with them in this world kindly, and follow the way of him who turns to Me, then to Me is your return, then will I inform you of what you did--

42:43. But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs.

4:114. There is no good in most of their secret counsels except (in his) who enjoins charity or goodness or reconciliation between people; and whoever does this seeking Allah's pleasure, We will give him a mighty reward.

25:63. And the servants of the Beneficent Allah are they who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace.

hmmm looks like the most appropriate thread to post this:

    Koran 002.065
And ye know of those of you who broke the Sabbath, how We said unto them: Be ye apes, despised and hated!

Jeeezes said g-d made the sabbath for the benefit of people...to give them a day of rest. So breaking the sabbath means working on that day. And for such infractions Mohammad declared in the koran that the jews deserved to be turned into hated apes? Brutal mistreatment of Jews.
  • You believe the bible too much sophion. Basahin mong maigi ang sasabihin ko ha.

The sabbath is not about not working on a particular day. Remember that Jeezas worked on a sabbath and debated with the Pharisees about that. The Pharisees knew the law too well, and we can read that law in the OT. What Jeezas did, we cannot read in the OT. Jeezas let his disciples pluck grain in a sabbath day. And he healed somebody. ALL VIOLATIONS OF THE SUPPOSED "LAWS OF GOD". This is an illogical and strange scenario. Jeezas CANNOT violated God's laws, kahit pa sabihin nila na siya ang the LORD OF THE SABBATH. This only proves one thing. THE LAWS OF THE OT ARE CORRUPTED, ALTERED. Jesus knows the actual law and he acts and preaches according to it. The Sabbath is more than just being immobile on that day. Whatever the real sabbath is, I don't know.

And that verse you mentioned, Muhammad was narrating what was dictated of him of what happened in the past. Muhammad had nothing to do with it simply because he wasn't alive yet.

CONTINUED DEFIANCE OF THE LAWS WAS THE REASON FOR "BE YE DESPICABLE APES"
[7:164] Recall that a group of them said, "Why should you preach to people whom GOD will surely annihilate or punish severely?" They answered, "Apologize to your Lord," that they might be saved.

[7:165] When they disregarded what they were reminded of, we saved those who prohibited evil, and afflicted the wrongdoers with a terrible retribution for their wickedness.

[7:166] When they continued to defy the commandments, we said to them, "Be you despicable apes."

[7:167] Additionally, your Lord has decreed that He will raise up against them people who will inflict severe persecution upon them, until the Day of Resurrection. Your Lord is most efficient in enforcing retribution, and He is certainly the Forgiver, Most Merciful.

[7:168] We scattered them among many communities throughout the land. Some of them were righteous, and some were less than righteous. We tested them with prosperity and hardship, that they may return.

[7:169] Subsequent to them, He substituted new generations who inherited the scripture. But they opted for the worldly life instead, saying, "We will be forgiven." But then they continued to opt for the materials of this world. Did they not make a covenant to uphold the scripture, and not to say about GOD except the truth? Did they not study the scripture? Certainly, the abode of the Hereafter is far better for those who maintain righteousness. Do you not understand?
  • The Quran, that Satanic Verses, actually, impliedly, symbolically, and analogically commands, urges, prods, and nudges every Muslim to kill, maim, and murder every non Muslim.

These non Muslims include those prior Muslims who convert to other faiths, but the command to kill, maim, and murder is specifically targeted to Jews and Christians.

The pages of the Quran reeks of an anger and hatred that leads only to a Satanic frenzy of hate filled murder, killing, and maiming of life.

the passage i quoted was from chapter 2 while your quote is from chapter 7. how do you know both are speaking of the same group?

and its not that i believe the bible. i was just pointing out what jews believe about the sabbath. the point here is being hated & destroyed for working OVERTIME.
  • Chapter 2 implies that the audience knows the group to whom the phrase, "be ye despicable apes" refers to, therefore, it is logical to assume that the sabbath breakers where the ones described in chapter 7 because the phrase was repeated.

The Quran never mentioned about not working on Sabbath. What it mentioned was defiance of the commandments (plural).

the logic doesnt follow: just because both mentions the same type of punishment doesnt mean that its the same group of people being punished. in fact chapter 7 mentions multiple infractions while chapter 2 was only for the breaking of the sabbath.

    wait a minute....

    007.163
YUSUFALI: Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea. Behold! they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads, but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not: thus did We make a trial of them, for they were given to transgression.
    007.164
YUSUFALI: When some of them said: "Why do ye preach to a people whom Allah will destroy or visit with a terrible punishment?"- said the preachers:" To discharge our duty to your Lord, and perchance they may fear Him."

    007.165
YUSUFALI: When they disregarded the warnings that had been given them, We rescued those who forbade Evil; but We visited the wrong-doers with a grievous punishment because they were given to transgression.

    007.166
YUSUFALI: When in their insolence they transgressed (all) prohibitions, We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected."
