    ...And look at Lamborghini now.

It took them 4 owners, 40 years and a rollercoaster existence, but they can now rightly claim to have beaten Ferrari with their cars for sheer usability and driver friendliness.

The V10 Gallardo is much less nervous than the 360 Modena; the V12 Murcielago is a much better cruiser than the scary-when-wet 575M Maranello.

I'd love to own a Gallardo someday...

Incidentally, Ford also got majorly pissed off when Enzo Ferrari snubbed their offer of a buyout in the 1960s.

    Guess what happened?

Ford built the legendary GT40...and wiped Le Mans clean with Ferrari's previously undefeated @$$ for three years. Ferrari has NEVER won at Le Mans since.

    Medyo off-topic ito...

...But because Ferrari never won a single Le Mans race after the Ford GT's reign in the late 1960s, PORSCHE dominated the 24-hour race for 17 years.

Their 2004 Carrera GT supercar was born out of a disqualified recent attempt to compete in Le Mans again. New engine regulations banned the 5.5L V10 race engine...so Porsche decided to make it into a street-legal 5.7L V10 that passes EURO4 emissions tests.

    TALK ABOUT RECYCLING!
