Is it possible that humans developed the technology to fly in early civilizations - or in civilizations that are now lost to history?

The pyramids WERE built indeed. But there are some puzzling instances with their technology; e.g. there's a granite slab inside that was cut by a precision instrument(2000 rpm)! Mystery? I don't know...

the pyramids were not built of granite but of limestone (a lot softer than granite). they were quarried by chopping slots on the limestone cliffs using axes and adzes tipped with hard granite or diorite. when the slots were deep enough (6 meters deep, 0.6 meters wide), soft wood dipped in water was rammed into the slots. the expansion broke entire blocks of limestone 10 meters x 6 meters x 4 meters. these were hauled to the site by barge and rollers.

the site was leveled by hand, using spirit bevels to maintain horizontality. maintaining verticality and the right angles was a simple matter of plump bobs and protractors (not difficult for a civilization that practically wrote the book on geometry).

harder granite slabs were used for posts, lintels and finishing for the interior chambers.

as to your 2000 rpm device, you underestimate the skill and ingenuity of ancient man. they've been making fine jewelry even before the pyramids. the fly wheel used for pottery and other crafts was already well-developed.

So, you believe in ancient flying machines?

there have been recorded ones, though those that were supposed to be able to carry man were impractical.

Ancient Chinese were able to do rocket warfare with some eerily familiar tactics.

But I don't think anyone has ever done a man-carrying one until the first successful hot-air balloon was built.
