according to my Mapuan friend, this is the tactic of the admin to attract more freshmen because yearly tuition increases will be imposed on every new batch
Equations, e. Ang lowaet possible grade nila dyan ay 0, not 50!!! A score 10/100 does not spell 65% but 10%!!! Pahihirapan ka talaga nila masyado dyan.

Try UP or UST baka you'll end up 7 yrs.
True, but in Mapua, talagang pipigain ka masyado. Imagine receiving a grade of 10% sa isang exams mo? kasama yun sa computation nga grades mo 10% as in!!! Kaya maraming umaalis sa Mapua kasi sobrang hirap daw talaga, some even say na mas mahirap pa raw sa UP (that's what they say). Isang exam sabi ng classmate ko ngayon ganito ang instruction - for 50 points, draw the whole periodic table, kasama yung atomic numbe, atomic mass, electron configuration, etc. as in - LAHAT!!!

i think its so unreasonable to let students "draw" the periodic table. hay naku, parang ginagawang med or law yung engg. Engg should be analytical at hindi memorization!!!!

Anywhere you go 10/100 is really 10%. You don't have to be an engineer to figure that out. LOL
10/100 exams equivalent to only 10%?!! It is implemented in MIT only. The equivalent of that score is around 60 to 63%, in MIT, it is 10% Lolz! That's kinda outrageous!
Greenarcher: I'm taking about grade equivalents here, not mathematical operation, ok?
karl: Yes, they did that. Imagining memorizing even the smallest quatum number?!! What the... Lolz! Your head will surely turn upside down.
clawed_out: several schools are using 50% as the base, so if you get zero as your raw score, you'll get 50%, and of course, that's a failing mark. If you got the half of the total items right, you'll get around 75%. I hope you get it now.
It is not really "grading them higher than what they should get".

I cant imagine a UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE not having that grading system.
Nothing really to be proud of abulug. MANY if not most univs here have that system.

Hard sell. That was probably the reason why you get hard up coping the subjects. Ideally, you need more "brains" to head up any engineering course. The title of the thread itself my dear. student selectivity ain't that that good. logic?

the reason for giving such a ridiculous exam is not to test the memorization skills or intelligence or whatever of the students, TAMAD LANG GUMAWA NG EXAM YUNG TEACHER!

what in the world has the quality of education come up to to grade them higher than what they should get.
ano pa? are they being graded with their behaviour?

wow! parang high school ah!
are we stepping backwards here?
