Gapuz, ok lang, madaming green jokes, so brace yourselves and don't be shocked. medyo 'bongga' lagi ang 'production number' nya, but he has very good cotrol in terms of audience attention, hindi boring... reviewed with him for final coaching last november for december exam, only about 10% of his 'tips' came out... many are disappointed. mataas passing rate ng reviewee nila coz many of them are doctors... one thing good about his review is gaining self-confidence, feel mo, madami kang alam after the review... that's the only thing i get out of my review with him... in fairness, magaling sya sa psychiatric nursing and may actual sample ng answer sheets where you are thought to shade correctly for the computer to validate your answers.

bottom line is... go to review centers only to 'review', what's more important are the things you learned during your school days... have confidence in yourselves and pray a lot...

Thanks! Well, for one thing, review centers have its own share of topnotchers and flunkers. R.A. Gapuz, yes, he's full of "palabas" -- singing his heart out during reviews. **** Bersabe is also one good gay lecturer in Psych..

To those who took the board exams, what questions (sample) really puzzled you or surprised you? Share naman pls. ty.

    sample board question last dec...

if you are a doctor-nurse and you asked your school to make up your RLE cases, what will you do?
    a. ignore it
    b. just pretend you don't know about it
    c. forget it
    d. talk to PRC officials and make sure you make-up for those cases

    another one goes something like...
if a certain drug (narcotics yun na brand name ang binigay) will produce a certain effect if given 10 mg IV, how much should it be given per orem to get similar effect?
    a. 10 mg
    b. 50 mg
    c. 75 mg
    d. 100 mg

  • unchinunchin Member PExer
    ay, meron pa pala, nakakatuwa...

what is the reason of people in taking up nursing as a second course?
    a. to go to another country
    b. to find a foreign lover
    c. economic reasons
    d. to find greener pasteur

i have three former classmates who transfered to other schools just to study nursing (because shifting is not allowed in our school, most of the time). parang lahat na lang ng tao puro call centers and nursing ang pinupuntahan. well, wala namang masama doon pero ako talaga, i want to do what i want to do. i know some nursing students who just took nursing because of economic reasons but they are not doing well with their nursing course. minsan, calling din talaga ang pagiging nurse.

wow! our teachers told us to expect silly questions like this but heck sana naman wag majority hehehe...so unchin ano sinagot mo dto??? cguro my answer would be d sa first...hehehe kakausapin pa prc officials sa 2nd dko talaga alam.... bka d na rin ....ano pala lumabas sa research i heard marami (not sure if marami) raw lumabas dun :D
  • reninarenina Member PExer
    Anymore interesting board questions? hehehe
  • unchinunchin Member PExer
i agree, nursing is indeed a calling, not only financial gains in the future but you must be dedicated as well so as not to get 'burned out' in the long run. sis-in-law ko, nurse sa US 15 yrs na, nung nag nursing sya, wala lang, di sya decided kung ano gusto nya nun kaya nag nursing, malapit school sa bahay... ayun, buraot na sya lagi sa patients at sa buhay nya... pumangit ugali kahit mayaman na, burned out sa work lagi kahit 20 hrs per week lang work nya... kaya this profession definitely needs calling... not just wanting to earn big bucks. kawawa talaga yung mga nursing students ngayon na pinilit lang ng parents of just 'infatuated' sa idea of associating nursing with $$$s.

regarding sa board exam last dec,

dami talaga psych questions last time. around 50%.

dami din common sense lang and prioritizing, kaya kayang-kaya nyo yun...

enjoy your review... God bless sa exam.

if you found out that your co-worker who is a nurse is having an illicit affair with someone, what will you do?
    a. ignore her
    b. confront her
    c. pretend that you didnt know
    d. spy on her

  • reninarenina Member PExer
Unchin, thanks ! May I ask what is the approach for the tests? Is it still by subject like MCN, Perida, MS, etc.? I heard board exams are integrated meaning one question will encompass any category.
  • unchinunchin Member PExer
  • sweet_ryansweet_ryan Member PEx Guru 🎖️🎖️
what is the result? can somebody post it here.

    thanks.

    Mga 3 weeks pa siguro.

according to prc people, max of 13 days from the last day of examination (which was june 6). so probably, by the end of the month we'll get to know our new RNs.

btw, the board of nursing will not post the top students, rather they will be posting the top schools.
  • tintabletintable R.N. PExer
Ayy, matagal pa! Good luck sa mga papasa, sa mga babagsak, k lang yan, may next year pa noh!

Especially to THE THOMASIAN NURSING, made ur school proud!

correction dear, december 2005 ang next boards
  • tintabletintable R.N. PExer
there were no top students posted last december 2004 boards. only top schools.

but it is rumored that an MD topped the exam followed by a UP student by the name of Ma. Victoria Recinto
  • tintabletintable R.N. PExer
    quite a delusional thought.

nevertheless, let's assume that 6 out of 10 board topnotchers are thomasians and only 4 are from other schools (probably UP or Silliman..). Using previous statistics which indicate that approximately 2-3 thomasians fail the board exam, it is still no match to UP's 100% passing rate.

still, there is no point of arguing about that. We shouldn't be even talking about UP, UST or other big schools. What we should talk about are the IT schools (ie. STI, AMA) and other non-medical related schools which are opening nursing courses.
  • tintabletintable R.N. PExer
cheap ba? I dunno if they have the same per unit rates with that of their IT courses. From last year's quote, it was around 1,200 - 1,500 per unit, e.

in parity to them, they may have the best labs and equipments, but I'm afraid about the kind of education you'll get from them. quite a money-making scheme.
