Cord Stump

hi doc Ira.

my newborn is 17 days old. Di pa rin nahuhulog cord stump niya. I clean it everyday 3x a day with 70% ethyl alcohol. pero until now it's still there.

it's dry na naman. pero it still hasn't fallen off.

is this normal? diba dapat after a week or two wala na?

The stump should fall off between 10 - 21 days. Continue cleaning with alcohol. Make sure that the stump is not covered by the diaper so that it's exposed to air and not to urine.
