The Risk Of Taking Up Bsba-ca

Hi Peeps!! CA grad here batch 98

Honestly, I don't believe that our course is one of the best courses offered in csb. Why?

1. 40 kami sa block but I am the only one working as an IT professional. Almost half napunta sa call center. Ung iba wala na kong balita. But the last time I heard was they were still trying to find a job.

2. After graduation d mo alam kung san ka pupunta. Programmer ba? Business? Ewan.

Higpitan nila ung Thesis defense.

  • pikaboo : thanks for your concern... ill be graduating really soon so far ok naman experience ko sa CA.. so far mga naging prof ko sa mga impt subjects ng CA eh napupunta sa mga competitive prof talaga.. and sobrang lucky ako... even though mas marami kailangna gawin or aralin at least.. i know i can be ready to met the IT industry outside hehehehehe

thanks for your concern but i dont believe everything you say...
  • a lot of fresh CA grads go to call center. kc mas maraming opening and ok naman salary don. i dnt think half ng CA grad e nagiging programmer or napupunta sa IT. konti lang nagiging programmer talaga, those who are studying on their own. kc puro basic lang naman usually tinuturo sa CA. it's true, when thesis time, a lot of students look for a "tutor" or a person who knows pogramming that will help them to pass their thesis. some ppl kc pinapagawa talaga as in they dont even bother asking things they dont know basta may mapasa lang. some naman are willing to learn....naninigurado, actually kahit mga matatalino nagpapatulong din. nagkakabukingan nga kasi minsan 1 lang yung gumagawa. :D kaya nagkikita kayo sa 1 lugar :D
i know someone who doesn't know much abt VB n access yet she passed....swertehan lang talaga sa panelist. not everybody who took CA as their course wants to work as a programmer/systems analyst, etc... ako nga, i only realized that i dont like working in front of a computer the whole day when i was working on our thesis already, tinapos ko na lang yun...sayang e. i know a couple of benildeans working in IT naman, like sa Accenture, Fujitsu, KPMG, etc... at the end of the day, nasa sa iyo na yun if u really like doing those codes in front of a computer for 8 hrs a day. usually naman may training sa company like sa Accenture, so parang nag-aaral ka ulit din.
  • It's not true na kaya cla nag work sa call center dahil malaki salary. Actually last resort nila un. Lucky for me I was able to find a job in 2 mos.

McLaren321: Bilib ako sayo kc you feel that you are ready to face the IT industry.

    Peace =)
  • most salaries at call centers are competitive...altho' sino ba naman gustong maging ganon 4ever. most ppl naman they just work there for experience while looking for other job opportunities. kaya nga continuous hiring lagi mga call centers kasi madaming umaalis din. pero i'd rather work in a call center kesa sa bank na ang baba ng sweldo. good for you, you found an IT related job. what do you do there, do u do programming or more on the technical side?

buti ngayon wala ng block section. i've had classes with some block sections b4, ireg ako and base on my observation...ok lang don yun samahan pero some ppl depend on their classmates for assignments and rampant ang cheating and kalokohan. pero pag non-block section e most ppl do study and participate in class, mas serious mga tao, less cheating also...pero d mo naman masyado kilala mga ibang classmates mo except mga katabi at malalapit sayo.

SoBRA....... AyAw Ko NA TuLoY Sa BEnILDe!!!!:o SyEmPRe JoKe jOKE JoKE YUn!
  • im sorry...

i would not consider that being in a call center is a job...
  • kahit ano naman major mo sa school...your taking a risk....i know someone na programmer sa U.N. but since down masyado ang IT dito sa U.S. and since wala syang papel...he's just pumping gas right now until makakita sya ng job....imgaine this guy...he was making more than 60K....

about sa sinasabi mo na basta umattend ka lang ng school..papasa ka na??anong class yun and sinong professor?? i doubt it...
  • mga peeps.. i'm also a ca course graduate batch '97 and all i can say is an undergrad school role is to teach you the basic foundation in the course you choose. then it's up to you to master it. kaya ng hindi sya graduate studies eh. Like for my case I'm also in the IT industry and right now taking an mba. all i can say is yung mga course sa CA particularly the financial course are the one usually teach in graduate schools although sympre mas tutok talaga sa graduate schools. In my 3.5years experience in CSB. the curriculum is okay naman except that madaming d qualified na teacher. pero madami ring magagaling .. By the way i heard ang gulo na raw sa CSB faculty ngayon.. lakas raw pulitika..
  • btw sori for grammtical error. i'm in a hurry eh. dami work eh

ganun? well CA student here... sa tingin ko hindi naman tlaga natin masisisi at wala rin naman tayong masisisi if job demands sa pinas ay mababa... hindi lang naman CSB students and nakaka experience ng ganyan eh. There are others din. Ika nga you take this course to get a job but after that course you took you can never be sure to get the job you really like.

Transferee ako... at medjo nga nakita kong madaling pumasa dito. Ewan ko lang sa majors... ang major ko so far that madali pero challenging for me is SYSADES... thankful ako im under ms cueto kasi mabait yun.

Everything is a risk naman talaga eh. JOB DEMANDS and LANDING on a job runs on RANDOM NUMBERS. SWERTIHAN ba? Medjo skeptic ako jan. Pana panahon lang yan...

I'm hoping to graduate in like 5 terms less... they are doing revisions sa professor qualifications.
  • HAy SANA AlISiN NA Ung MGA FiLINg MAGALing NA TeAcHEr!
  • and guys... usually sa first job lng nagaaply kung saan ka galing na school.. after noon sa experience and kung ano nagawa mo sa previous company ang tinitingnan nila..

    :shy:
  • hi sa mga tao... c.a din po me 3rd yr.. yah its true hirap ng course naten kung iicipin mu pero mahirap un kung seryoso ang paghasa saten... kaso ung iba kze naten na subjects parang dinadaanan lang ndi naten mashado napapractice... un lang... sna b4 me mag grad masabi kong nakarir ko tlga ung course ko...
  • CA grad din ako. batch 98... 98 nga ba? goshy ang tanda ko na. batch 98 pero grad namin jan99.

back to the topic... i did not pursue a career in the IT field. sobrang bulok ng curriculum. maybe. but that's not just with the school. that's the risk you take with any IT major. by the time you graduate, ibang version na yung naka-release and bulok na yung tinuro sa iyo a year or so ago. the thing with the IT field is that you have to constantly keep up with what's going on. it doesn't matter what school you're in.

the business classes were more valuable to me. accounting, marketing, business law... i was able to use them more.

another thing... the school desperately needs better teachers.
  • hahaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! nakooo!!!!

like hello??? alam ba niya sinasabi niya???
