do know of any really good auto repair shop (covering engine repair, body repair, and auto maintenance -- tune-up, oil change, etc.)that you would recommend to your friends?

by using the word "good", i would mean efficient, reliable, and reasonably priced service. CASAs would of course be excluded off the list (extremely expensive)

I need a reliable auto repair shop! :(

Goodwill in Pinaglabanan, San Juan is alright.

You might want to get a scan at the yellow pages. There are a lot in the Makati and Banawe areas as well.

there's one along dansalan st. (near boni ave.). the owners name is allan and yes, it'd pretty cheap and his service is quite good.

our repair shop is extremely efficient and relatively cheap compared to the other competitors.

it's located along banawe street, corner m. cuenco.

the name is

checkpoint car care inc.

it's one of the oldest there, ala pang nagbebenta nung mga parts sa banawe nandun na kami.

one of our oldest competitors used to be mega motion- kaya lang na pirate na namin ang lahat ng magaling na mekaniko dun.

anyway, don't take my word for it, go check it out.

kaya lang, the downside to it is, palaging puno, never go there on fridays and saturdays, kasi nagpapagawa ng mga truck ang asia brewery at mga van ang abs.

tues to thurs would be a good day. all works are also guaranteed, kaya pag nasira, libre ang pagawa ulit-

we do everything, as in everything, alignment, camber correction, painting, body repair, aircon, tune up, change oil... we don't have accessories however, we don't sell stereos, fancy neon lights... but we do have bullbars and step boards.

Mga how much sa inyo for this type of service pare? And ano gagawin nyo sa auto for the 10k pms? And If ever i'll go there I'll look for you para may discount ok.

Look for Mr. Bernie Caba?es or simply "Mang Bernie". he is the Chief Mechanic. They are really good at fixing engines, under chasis, body repair, painting, electrical, tune-up, change oil, etc.,

And they won't rip you off your money. Very, very affordable and reasonable.

saan ba mas mura? sa casa or repair shops here in the metro? i went to Toyota and checked on the dents and they estimated certain amount to pay then I have Insurance claims pa. So what can u guys advice me to do?

Ipagawa mo na lang sa casa. Under warranty pa yang ride mo.

Kapag i-keclaim mo sa Insurance yung mga dents and scratches IMO sa casa mo na para maliit lang ang babayaran mo. (participation lang)

GENERAL:
Cousin Ferdie of Tsikot.com (real backyard mechanic). Works for himself with no boss. Works in his house. So maliit lang ang puhunan therefore maliit ang singil. I forgot his number. Sorry you cannot just show up in his house kasi baka marami siyang work (or parental duties). I will try to get it from Tsikot.com.

Chieffy of MARC Caltex in Pedro Gil. Good work, great rates. Just bring your own parts. He does not make money off selling you parts so its up to you to gather the parts needed. But his team is good at it and even humorous.

AIRCON:
Mang Mario in Bago Bantay. Also works from house so maliit lang ang puhunan. His wife is his only boss (nakow nakakatakot magalit si misis). Got me a surplus a/c compressor for Php 3,800.00 including instillation! Mura siya considering dual aircon ang sasakyan ko. Has lots of pets in house to keep you entertained. Don't be fooled by the humble surroundings. He works on Bimmers, Suburbans, Benzes and other high-end (and relatively new) vehicles.

PAINT:
Chieffy does painting but by appointment. I have a painter who works from a house too (sorry I don't really like dealing with dealerships or big companies). Did my Pajero in 3 hours after I banged the bumper into a Sentra. Wala na ata yung dating pintor pero the new guy is also good. Basta yung nasa likod ng Jonas sa Mayon St. sa SMH, Q.C.

PAINTLESS DENT REMOVAL:
Ungas (another Tsikoteer) has this home service PDR dude who will do dents for Php 300.00/ea. The price is negotiable and expect the price per dent to go down if your vehicle has lots of them.

You can wet sand rust using fine sand paper (2000 grit plus?) basta surface rust pa lang at hindi rust-through. If you have no intention of having the panel repainted soon, at least have the area touched up by hand using touch up paint (ask your local paint center to mix you one in case they do not have your color in stock).

help guys, i'm planning to have my '99 civic repaired and painted.
body repairs will include chipped bumpers, minor body dents and scratches. then, i'll have it painted with another color, haven't decided on the color yet, present color is honda's original cypress green.

tulong naman, where can i get this done? yung okay ang trabaho and okay din yung presyo...

btw, i had the works estimated at honda makati, they gave an estimate of Php20,000++ for the whole lot, tapos same color lang yata..

got to an accident recently, a car smashed my rear bumber.got no comprehensive insurance, so that means il get the money out of my own pocket to have my bumber fixed.

I guess insurance works differently in PiNAS. That would have been a collision claim here. Maybe your insurance company can recommend some names since they usually go with low cost but decent shops.
