Has anyone read this? It's a terribly enchanting retelling of the Cinderella fairytale. It's all about this girl, Ella, who was given the "blessing" by this fairy at her christening - that she would always obey everything anyone tells her. As she grew up, she the "blessing" quickly became a curse - people would tell her innocuous things and she would follow, even if she didn't want to, even when her safety was at stake. And then her mother dies, and her father, Sir Peter, a merchant, remarries.

It's also being made into a movie, starring Anne Hathaway from The Princess Diaries and The Princess Bride's Cary Elwes (wow, puro princess) as the Prince Regent, father of the Prince Charmont, whom Ella falls in love with.

I know this book.:D It was a fun light read.

I hope the movie turns out well. I liked Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries.
