Is happiness a privilege?

all men should be equal. but that is not the case reality wise, and would never happen. and just as men are equally entitled to happiness, everyone doesn't have the resources (and faculty?) to achieve this, even if everyone does desire it. and since i also believe in karma, the more so i believe that happiness is a privilege. be thankful if it comes your way, and just continue to do what you think is good otherwise, perhaps you might be rewarded, if not in this life, perhaps in the next...

  • 1. Happiness is not a privilege but its what we try to pursuit. Those are two different things: privilege entails separation due to essence. But all humans are the same in our potentials. Thus, it cant be privilege.

    2. Why then others have it while others don’t? It is not natural anyways. Societies are artificial, so we put artificial constraint against the happiness of many of our citizens. This is where it should change. I am not saying burn Forbes Park but what I am advocating is a return to a government that benefits not the mass but the society as a whole.

    3. Everyone is entitle not to happiness, but to pursuit that happiness. It seems ****ed up idea, but isn’t that what laws are based on?

    4. Thus, the moment we ‘see’ happiness as a privilege then we are creating a ‘social’ restraint on those that have nots. We ought not see it this way. The moment we do, we are fuc ked unless we are the one living inside the gated walls of Forbes Park.

No, it is a choice. You feel what you are feeling right now because you choose to feel that way.

    I believe...

    1. Its a necessity.

    2. It has many forms and it differs for everybody.

    3. We must strive to find and keep it.

    3. It comes with God and contentment.

  • happiness is a state of mind. as long as a person can see something positive, he'll never be unhappy.

yep... it's subjective, if you will... you can choose to be happy but most people make the mistake of comparing their lives to others... so when they see that other people have more money, boys/girls, everything, they become unhappy and they yearn those things... it's an insatiable thirst for happiness... once you gain that goal and you become happy, you realize that there's so much more out there and you yearn for those things... so you become unhappy all over again... haha ewan i just found something amusing with that and i have no idea why :bungi:

Absolutely, GOD's allies have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

They are those who believe and lead a righteous life.

For the, joy and happiness in this world, as well as in the Hereafter. This is God's unchangeable law. Such is the greatest triumph.
  • GUYS! DON'T BE SOOO NARROW MINDED! AND MATERIALISTIC!
You could be happy by just simply waking up in the morning! If not, "know yourself," just like Socrates puts it!
  • ignorance is bliss.
    bliss is happiness.
    ignorance is happiness.
    happiness is ignorance.
    ignorance is a choice.
    therefore happiness is a choice.

  • ignorance is not a choice. to be aware that it is a choice is not to become ignorant at all.
