Are Christian Soldiers Excempted from Killing?

What the Bible says about this?

Could anyone please help me find the answer?

So I'll know what to say when the next time I meet a Jehova Witness..... :)

I wonder what the Bible says about cable TV? And cars?

We ought to know what to say the next time we meet a non-Bible believer

imagine this, jehovas doesnt believe in joining the army, all because they hold on to the God's commandment of "Thou shall not kill..."

sabihin natin kung tama sila, paano mo naman mapapagtanggol ang iyong pananampalataya sa balat ng lupa, let say kung ang gobyerno ng pilipinas ay majority are jehovas and doesnt believe in the armed forces?

malamang kung ganon ay pusibleng maubos silang lahat kung tayoy atakihin ng ibang bansa, eh di wala nang kaagad yung mga supposed to be God's people. sino na ngayon ang magpapatuloy ng pagkakalat ng Gospel of Christ?

alam ko merong excemption dyan ang Dios tulad narin sa kanyang pagkakampi sa mga Israelites noong araw para todasen yung mga palestenians and other enemies of God's people in the old testament.

i know that this is a very difficult situation to explain, and i know that if a man is just following orders from his superiors to do a job, or if a superior officer is just doing his job, then there should be an excuse to kill people. that is also a situation like it depends on your cause. if you have to kill to protect your resources for your country, and its freedom and dignity, then so be it.

Dude!

naaalala mo pa ba yung David and Goliath story? si Goliath ay palestinian soldier.

anyway, it has something to do with your feelings or inside your mind/heart when you kill/murder your brother... its an awful thing to hear. if you kill with hatred then its bad, but if you kill just for the sake of your country, then its good. ewan ko ba.....

    read the old testament.

but if you're going to fight against a Jehova Witness, just remember that the war is not with the flesh, but with the spirit. You are to fight the demon inside him, not his body.

Hindi palestinian si Goliath. Siya po ay nagmula sa bansa na ang pangalan ay philistine.

Tsong! Anong translation ba ng Bible binabasa mo? Napaghalo-halo yata ng translator yung mga salita :glee:

I think the objective also counts. If murder will save more or innocent lives, depending on the situation.

Ano ba sabi sayo nung J. Witnesses? Kahit self defense masama pa rin?

I read a post somewhere that says something like everything happening is God's will....killing therefore is something God had programmed in his super computer. And the loop is continiously running....until...it encounter an... if statement like....ubos na ang tao...then the program will stop!

hey you akolage!!! yes you!!! i am talking to you!!!

Like what Mr. Coffee said b4, let me excplain to you that Goliath wasn't a Paletinian but a Phillistine. Phillistines if I remember it right are from Cyprus and migrated to the coastline of now Lebanon (Sidon in biblical times? I will check.)

I believe that is already a fine excample fyi.

Ewan ko ngayon, basta di ba hindi exempted ang mga pulis pumatay ngayon, kahit Catholic Christians sila?

Basta nung olden times, hindi sila exempted. I based this from Le Morte D' Arthur, or The Legend of King Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory. In there, it was explicitly stated that knights were beheading each other in jousts and combat.

My line of thinking is, if these killings are prohibited, why would Sir Malory write about it in the first place? :D

It's a paradox, it's all a matter of perhaps looking at it from a slightly tilted perspective, in the opposite direction, at an inverted global orientation etc. etc... until everything fits together perfectly.
imagine this, jehovas doesnt believe in joining the army, all because they hold on to the God's commandment of "Thou shall not kill..."
There's a "reward" for complying with this ain't there?

I thought this world's but an illusion; a mere Arena wherein a person proves he's worthy of Heaven on?

Can't we consider such scenario "the test" for the above? An immediate sub of the so-called "Judgement Day" if not the main one itself?

If I were God and the Real One at that, I would've just zapped 'em. That's coming from a mere mortal who can't help seeing a dog suffer from a terrible itch it's paws can't reach so, I'd do the scratching instead. No matter if my fingers smelled like my socks afterwards :D

God is supposed to be the "Macho Supremo", right? I guess it's the classic contradiction what makes it Paradoxical. The Jehova's true to the letter they seem are right, but looking at it from afar, on wider field of view well.. I don't think so. You are. ;)

Just groove by these Great words of wisdom and we'll all do fine:

Well you can tell by the way I use my walk
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk
    Music loud and women warm
I've been kicked around since I was born

And now it's alright, it's okay
And you may look the other way
    We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man

    (CHORUS)
    Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother
    You're stayin alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breakin' and ev'rybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ha, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ha, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive......

  • i would love to call the grammar police but i won't. :)

as for my thoughts on this, let's just say no matter what sort of idealogy one upholds, reality will bite -- hard. there's always that difference when one fights for a country and one that fights for religion.
