There is always a reason behind every single thing, a purpose in every single event. It may have little to do with us, but for some people, it may spell everything. Most of the time we cannot see what a simple thing as a falling leaf or a sudden gust of wind has to do with us. We know, however, that all things are connected. Some people say that when we see how things relate to each other, we are beginning to be wise. Wisdom is knowing that there are things we do not know.

Yes I do. Things just don't happen like that. They happen for a reason, even more so the things that are beyond our control.

Yes, I do believe that everything happens for a reason. I also believe that there's someone out there who's carefully guiding us every step of the way.

I'm a BA Communication grad but am working in the IT industry. Most of my friends wonder how this happened and if I had to sum up the reason in two words, I'd say "God's will."

I got my first job through a friend I met in cyberspace. I stayed in the company for a year and 2 months. At present, I'm in an internet start-up company and I got this job through PinoyExchange or, to put it better, I got it because of PinoyExchange. Now, there's an opportunity for me to work for a very prestigious IT company, again, because of PinoyExchange.

I believe that everything which happens to us is connected in one way or another. In my case, it started the day I found out what a modem was and got hooked to a bulletin board system [BBS]. It was there that I met my friend who referred me to my first job, and it was also there that I learned to love exchanging messages with "virtual" friends and understood how online communities work. The training I received from my first job helped me get my second job. Also, who would've known that my clicking on a link which led to PEx would change my career path, open more doors for me, and help me gain more friends? My life was changed that day I found out about PEx.

I really had no interest in IT as a career after I finished in college. What I really wanted was to go into advertising. I applied in a big ad company but didn't get accepted. I questioned God. I asked him why He didn't give me something I really wanted. Now I know the reason why. He had other, bigger plans for me.

In summary [yuck, parang report ah! lol.gif], look at the things which happen to you as a stepping stone for something bigger, a plan that God made even before you were born. If things don't work out the way you want them to, there must be a good reason. Have the patience to wait and discover what it is. Finally, pray. It really helps.

yes things do happen for a reason...

a lot of bad things have happened to me (after three decades of existence!!!) i have learned to say "what not? what am i suppose to do?" like others... before ... i used to say "why me? why?"... nahh.... no matter what there is always a reason... everything is a matter of attitude... or perception...

things happen for a reason... we may not be able to fathom it immediately but there is a reason for everything...

we exists for a reason, otherwise.. our existence is futile...

    i don't think so.

if our life has been planned beforehand and everything happens for a reason, then what is the use of our ability to decide things. free will and intelligence is this beautiful gift given to us by this God of the universe. i think we got them because He expects us to decide for ourselves where we ought to go. he expects us to grow using our wits.

the reasons for whatever happens are just that -- reasons that human beings make AFTER the act of deciding things have happened or after things beyond their reasoning happens. sort of a consuelo de bobo. otherwise, we would all be dead from despair or frustration.

life is an adventure. the beauty of it is that you never know what happens next.

    - Agree witht that. I graduated from Comm. but I work in a field that deals with economics and monitoring regional development. Yet, I believe I put myself in this position and I believe God thinks this is the right place for me to contribute to society.

I think the gift of free will was given to us not just so we'd get to choose what we want to do or what we want to happen in our lives. I, for one, believe that in every decision that we make, we should allow God to direct us. Given the free will which He accorded to us, I guess what He wanted us to do was to think about what we want and ASK Him whether He thinks it is good for us to choose that kind of path.

We do not always get what we WANT in our life. We RARELY get that, in as much as I'd like to believe that that's what really happens, although some might refute that. When we fail to get these things that WE think is best for us, it's not because we LITERALLY failed to get it. It's because God also chooses to give us what we NEED and what HE thinks is best for us. Although sometimes, when we do something and it results in a catastrophe, I think it is those few times that God wants to remind us that we do not always see what'll be good for us and so He makes us see them in a different light by letting us experience them. Then and only then, do we begin to realize the importance of his presence in our life. You realize how we always remember to call on God whenever we have problems?

    jennifer,

but God does not make your decisions for you. he only guides you. i always hate it when I see movies where the heroine blames God for something that happens to him or her. God didn't do those bad things. other people did, or the heroine did or you did or we did.

we pray because we are grasping for answers in this journey called life. God always hears us. And he guides us for sure. But the decision always depends on us.

God is not a dictator. He will never make nor control your decisions. It is your life to live. and your decisions to make.

There's a reason for everything that happens in our lives. We might not know it now but eventually these reasons will become clearer for us. All the things that occur in this world has a purpose and God will not give us something that He thinks we would not be able to handle. If we only stick to our faith and trust in Him then nothing wrong would happen to us. I believe that at the end we would get what we truly deserve depending on how we lived our own lives. If we put God in the center of our lives then we have nothing to worry about. :)

"God answers prayers in 3 ways: YES and gives you what you want, NO and gives you something better than what you were asking for, WAIT and gives you the best in His own perfect time."
