There is already a thread about this in the LAFI Forum...but I think this would also be appropriate in this forum.

What do you guys think will be its implications on humanity...if it indeed does happen. What would you do if you found out that ground zero would be your country. Life as we know it may change drastically...

What can we do to avert this disaster??

i was counting on a quiet retirement in about 15 years in peaceful fairview. i just want to tend the front lawn in the morning, read and nap in the afternoon, maybe drink a couple of pale and watch CDs at night. and now this. :D

    nah, i wouldn't worry.

rors smash mo mukha mo :)
i should catch up on my reading now with all the books i bought lately. sayang naman money ko if won't get to read them before that asteroid flatten me.

and perhaps i should play badminton na as often as i can.

    :D

wala naman tayong magagawa dyan eh. magco-cross stitch ako ng asteroid before it finally touches ground.

This is the sad state of the world right now - our science is good enough to locate a nearby asteroid - and yet our scientists are not yet sure whether it will actually intersect the earth's path or miss by a few million kilometers. What kind of high tech science do we really have?

As usual everybody's gonna twiddle their thumbs until it is too late and an actual asteroid hits earth and sends homo sapiens sapiens into extinction.

Maybe i should start developing a very powerful weapon to destroy that asteroid.....

    then....
I will sell it to UN for 100 billion US dollars. If my weapon is their only hope, then I just positioned my self in absolute monopoly and enjoy wealth and power more than Bill Gates do. Anyway, pumalpak man iyon at bumagsak pa rin dito ang asteroid, na-enjoy ko na yung kuwarta :greed:

  • times like these, i still want to be a cockroach.

IMO, ground zero would be the best place to be. I'm gonna die anyway, might as well get the front row seats to the show....

di na naman daw yata tatama sa earth yan, ayun sa isang report ng NASA....
  • Just pray that the moon blocks it's path.;)

I'm hoping it dosen't hit the moon or us...both would be catastrophic..
  • Its only 2 km long, but huge enough to wipe out a convoy of senators and congressmen. Im not worried.
But the thought of it hitting Manila Bay really horrifies me--it would agitate the buraks and mess out all the awful lot of sh1t the city dumped in it.

Maybe, watching soap opera and noontime shows can change the path of the fr...... asteroid.

Bad trip talaga, nakikita natin yung mga asteroid na tatama sa earth, pero the big question is how to stop it.

Sa ngayon the best thing I could do is trust God...

it is a scary thought noh?! well...i'm confident that by then our scientists would have found a way to avert this catastrophe....a giant laser perhaps...or a humongous nuclear bomb....or whatever! :p

with a 1 gigaton expolsion, all those would be vaporized even before they land, not to mention the philippines itself. Only kiloton bombs were used in the bombing of Japan in WWII
