Hello there! An aspiring med student here taking my undergraduate degree here in UP. Di ko na pinapangarap sa med namin, di naman kasi ako gagraduate with honors e at halos lahat naman nang kinukuha ng UP Med eh puro may honors. Sakto lang naman ang mga grades ko and gusto ko talagang tuparin ang aking pangarap na maging doktor.

Have no idea sa patakaran re:candidates for applying for Medicine sa FMS pero tanong ko lang, malaki ba ang chance na matanggap sa FMS ang isang student na hindi latin honor recipient? Malaking factor din ba ang mataas na NMAT grade? And do FMS give scholarships? Salamat sa makakapagbigay ng sagot!

1. If you had your pre-med at UST, mas higher ang probability that you'll be accepted. Otherwise, pray hard.
2. Yes, the NMAT score is given much emphasis.
3. Yes, they do offer scholarships to deserving students.

Ask ko lang po kung pwede kumuha ng kahil ilang Application forms para sa USTET . kasi po ikukuha ko na po yung mga classmates ko eh )

Gusto ko mag med kaya lang marami ako bagsak nung undergrad, college was a tough ride for me. And now, nanghihina ako dahil dito. Gusto ko pa **** makapasok sa UST. Please I need help, kung possible ba ang ''backup'' para makapasok sa ust, bec. our family has a family doctor teaching in UST. Although di pa ko nag aask sa kanya ng help.

May possibility ba na makapasok ako sa med??

Hmm.. Include the high tuition fee plus the books and hand-outs, uniforms, dorm/lodging, school materials (pens, lots of highlighters), the minimum will be close to P100K.

What are the chances that I get accepted into UST Med:

1. i failed more than 8 units of subject in UST
2. i haven't taken the NMAT yet :/

but

I know someone inside, our family doctor is teaching in ust med.
We can afford anything, money is not a problem.

and

I want to enter Medicine.
I messed up my pre-med course because it was really difficult.

so

I want to know, is there any chances that I can get in by just having a connection????
PLEASE PLEASE I NEED ANSWER.

I want to know kung may 'bobo' bang nakapasok sa ust med. (sorry for the bobo term, pero i'm just an average student who is hoping to become a doctor someday.

^ Consider that yearly admission into UST FMS is getting very competitive, tough because of the huge number of applicants. The committee gives much bearing into pre-med grades, NMAT score (the higher the better), entrance exam. So, if you failed more than 8 units in Pre-Med, think of applying into other medical schools.

Don't rely too much on your family friend who teaches in the faculty. Remember, it's you who make the cut.. not him/her.

I'm an average student during my pre-med days, no failed grades, my NMAT was okay (before may cut-off pa sila na 65), no backer/kilala-sa-loob, and I didn't had my pre-med in UST. Back then, they only admit 400 students into 1st yr. I made it and graduated.

OMG REALLY?? Can I talk to you in private message?? You're giving me hopes that I can enter medschool eventhough I have failed subjects. I have some questions to ask.

i don't see why failed subjects is very important. I mean you fail but you took up again that subject. Grades doesn't measure a persons ability to do / perform something. Bakit pag surgeon ka ba kelangan mataas grade mo? It's all about the skills dba?? And I really want to enter UST Med. If not then I hope some schools will accept me.

@ExApparatus - Not really. It depends, there are a lot of people who got kick out of school and yet manage to be successful. Grades are just numbers..
