i'm intrigued....i would also like to get a couple of feedbacks
I have a friend who studied there. He's pretty good as a chef. some of the teachers come from Switzerland from the Swiss Hotel Schools there. It's a bit steep to go there. I'll ask for more details...
i'm from cca... i'm one of the pioneer students of the school.... we had better teachers then, than what they have now... i think they have a lot of teachers who are fresh grads....
i think in a culinary school, what's important is the experience of the teacher... the school where they graduated comes second only....
i would check out the CIA in NY or napa valley.
no offense...
totoo ba na if you don't know how to flip an egg perfectly.. you'll fail??? i read it somewhere.![]()
Ganito lamang ka-simple yan.Kung nasasarapan kayo sa pagkain ng Cravings at Aressi's,then go.
majority feel that the food sucks! I suggest sa school na lang ni Gene Gonzalez sa may San Juan.
Most of our chef instructors come from CCA. But then after finishing my course and I wanted to be a Chef, they advised me to be a chef apprentice in a prestigious hotel instead of enrolling at CCA.

The school is called the Center for Asian Culinary Studies . It's where Cafe Ysabel is. The school's actually great. At maraming from CCA ang nag-t-transfer. Besides, I think it's been bought by CSB -- parang extension ata ng HRIM course nila. I think they're (CSB + CACS) also opening a new course. The Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, or something to that effect.Originally posted by Zarda

If you're interested in going to a culinary school, the best bet here sa Manila is CACS. Compared to Carving's, the food's a helluva lot better sa Cafe Ysabel!![]()
really? so where is this CACS located?
well, i think you REALLY have to KNOW have to cook for you to become a good chef... it doesn't mean that just because you have a good culinary educational background means that you will excel in the field... a good chef by nature cooks well not just because he went to school.
i have a lot of classmates in CCA who has gotten into a different career field...
a lot of the students think that just because they get into a good school means that they get rewarded with a better job... that doesn't happen all the time.
some people really have that flair for making everything delicious... but sad to say some don't.
Ako, I really can't cook; well, haven't tried that much except I guess for the basic stuff. But I think magaling akong tumikim. Madali kong mahuli kung ang isang dish kulang sa kung anong ingredient. Puwede kaya ako sa culinary arts?
CACS is in front of Cafe Ysabel. It's Along P. Guevarra sa San Juan.
Bakekang: Definitely. The skills in the culinary arts, cooking per se, flipping the egg, making crepes and candies with bare hands, etc. can be learned. Even fingertips can be trained to be numb . A good palate however, I think not. I'm not too sure if the palate can be "trained" or not. They don't do Palate Development classes in the CIA for nothing, I guess. But if you're already blessed with one, why not take advantage of it?![]()

hope you know something like this..
