Remembering Alfie Anido...

Long before Bagets (Aga, JC and others) was introduced we already had perhaps one of the prettiest faces to grace the local silverscreen...none other than Alfie Anido...not only that, he also exudes the charm and "class" image...he made some memorable films like "Katorse"(launching film of Dina Bonnevie), "Bilibid Boys" and "Blue Jeans" fortunately the last one was shown yesterday over channel 2 (Sine Fiesta) i miss him so much...he left the world so suddenly that his death even caused a controversy...(did he really commit suicide?) he was rumored to be the only daughter's boyfriend of a very powerful Marcos ally turned traitor...too bad we will never know the truth behind it...

Nobody can ever take his place in local showbusiness...whereever you are Alfie...we really miss you!

Grabe! I couldn't believe na may naka-alala kay Alfie Anido. Matagal ko na syang crush. 5 years old pa lang ako crush ko na sya, (I'm already 22). It all started sa movie nya together with Lorna T. and Lloyd Samartino entitled "DIOSA". He was so cute grabe! di ko sya makalimutan...(sana sya rin

). When i was in 3rd year high school, napanood ko yung "KATORSE" with Dina and Gabby, nabuhay ang paghanga ko sa kanya. Then nung Sky cable pa kami napanood ko uli yun sa then Pinoy Blockbuster Channel, (basta pelikula ito ang bida!). Maski madaling araw pina-panood ko sya. Ngayon, Destiny Cable na kami pero pina-record ko sya kay Apostle. Nagulat ako yesterday nang pinalabas yung "Blue Jeans". I was so happy buti na lang nag-absent ako sa work ko. Kung hindi, di ko sya napanood. He was featured in "Pipol" last year. I believe that he didn't commit suicide but was murdered. Sayang, for me he was the most beautiful male specie in Philippine showbiz. Talo pa nya si Piolo Pascual. Galing syang Ateneo like Erap pero hindi barok sa english kundi sa tagalog. May movie pa sya na napanood ni Apostle entitled "Temptation Island". Ang comment nya ay masyadong exag at mahalay ang acting nilang lahat, maglaplapan ba naman most of the time. I guess there will never be another Alfie Anido...

Alfie Anido..I first seen him in Alma Moreno's Nympha and then he and Dina B. became a hot item. He was guwapo and since Inglesero medyo snubbish ang dating. I learned of his death while we were preparing to hear mass New Year's Eve and ang tsismis nga'y pinatay daw siya at hindi suicide as reported. After his death, maraming magazines ang nag-publish nang mga articles sa kanya and I remember reading that his family was planning to preserved his room the way he left it. Ang tagal na noon. You think until now naka-maintain pa rin ang room niya?

ako talagang naaalala ko pa siya 13 years old ako ng mamatay siya mag newnewyear non pa 1981 non tandang tanda ko pa talagang guapo siya no ! at talagang naging sila ni dina bonnevie before vic sotto sla talaga hindi pa artista si dina non sila na ni alfie kaya nga siya naging artista dahil kay alfie sayang nga lang at di sila ngkatuluyan mabilis kasi si vic sotto inunanahan si alfie dati madalas ipalabas ang movies niya like katorse with dina nympa with alma moreno,diosa with lorna tolentino and temptation island marami sila don sa movie na yon siempre dina again janet bordon,jennifer cortez,deborah sun. at marami pa siyang nagawang movie actually mas guapo siyang di hamak sa kapatid niya remember albert anido? his younger brother naging ka loveteam ni janice de belen nung 80's

Alfie Anido (December 31, 1959 – December 30, 1981) was a popular Filipino matinee idol best remembered today for having died tragically at the young age of 22. He was the eldest of four children of Alberto Anido and Sara Serrano, and was the brother of Albert Anido, another Filipino actor.

Born Alfonso Serrano Anido, he was also a fashion and commercial model before he became a contract star for Regal Films, a leading Filipino film production company. He was dubbed as one of the Regal Babies, along with other then-young actors such as Gabby Concepcion, William Martinez, Albert Martinez, Jimi Melendez, Maricel Soriano, Snooky Serna and Dina Bonnevie. He was famously linked with Bonnevie, his co-star in the 1980 camp classic Temptation Island. At the time of his entry into show business, he was in college at the Ateneo de Manila University taking up Management.

To date, an air of mystery still surrounds the circumstances behind Anido's death. The official version, contemporaneously reported in the mainstream Manila media, was that Anido had shot himself in a suicide. This version has not been officially or authoritatively contradicted to this day. However, immediately after his death, rumors quickly spread that Anido was actually murdered, and that such fact was covered up owing to the prominence of the personalities allegedly involved. The rumor gained traction in Manila, which was then under the throes of the authoritarian rule of Ferdinand Marcos, whose government controlled the mass media during that period. Other versions on the death of Anido were printed in the alternative press such as the Philippine Collegian, the official student organ of the University of the Philippines, a hotbed of anti-Marcos activism. While the rumor that Alfie Anido was murdered still persists, with the aura of an urban legend, the fact remains that no evidence has been put forth to rebut the official version of a suicide.
