Christians should follow the 10% minimum for tithing: agree or disagree?

Disagree ako dyan sa sinabi mo... Ganyan ba kakitid ang faith mo kay God? Don't u trust Him that He will be the one to provide for d needs of ur family? Don't u believe in His promise in Malachi 3?-

The Lord says, " Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there maybe food in my house. Test me in this, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have enough room for it."Malachi 3:10-11

Personally, I can give at least 10% (wholeheartedly) because I believe that God can provide for my needs. There are times na feeling ko mashort yung budget ko, pag at least 10% ang ibibigay ko... pero I always end up in taking a step of faith, that God will provide for all my needs.... and indeed, He never fails to keep His promise.

Correction, He never asked His gentile followers for 10%. What he actually said was "give what your heart desires".

That 10% thing was only for the Old Testament and constitutes the main tax the Israelites pay for their income or produce.


It is good though to give higher in good faith. But that doesnt mean that 10% is a requirement.

Disagree naman ako dyan sa sinasabi mo ngayon. That verse you quoted was only applicable in the context of the Old Testament to encourage the Israelites to be honest with their tax contributions.

There are true Christians in Africa who die of malnutrition. Does this happen to them because they have nothing to give to God?

I'm going to have to agree with the 10% tithing. After that whatever amount I give based on whatever my heart desires is the offering part (there's a difference between the two).

ok, remember, its a minimum of 10% tithing. if one Christian gives what his/her heart desires then, he's not following that teaching anylonger. that means, instead its an open heart, doesnt matter if its below, exact, or higher than 10%....

anyway thats ur opinion, no problem....
