Article from The Manila Times by Danny Vibas

Trust ABS-CBN 2 people to think of attention-grabbing ideas for their shows—such as teaming up former child star rivals Aiza Seguerra and Matet de Leon in a lesbian love affair in the forthcoming Valentine episode of the drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Can you guess who the lesbian is in the story?

If you say Aiza, then you’re flat wrong. You think just because Aiza is being rumored to be a lesbian (or has she come out, which is why she doesn’t talk about her gender anymore?) the brilliant gays of ABS-CBN 2 will cast her in a lesbian role?

In the story written by Keiko Galvez and Wenn Deramas (with the latter also directing the episode), the very feminine Matet plays the character that has lesbian tendencies. Matet’s character is in love with that of Aiza who is only tomboyish (the character is always in shirt and pants) but not lesbian. The “wonder” of it all is that Aiza’s cha-racter in the story was raised by a lesbian couple portrayed by Eugene Domingo and Yayo Aguila.

Moreover, Aiza’s character is so normal a girl she couldn’t get herself to tell Patrick Garcia she loves him. And to add more excitement to the story, Patrick is after Matet.

Hosted by Charo Santos Concio, Maalaala Mo Kaya airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. The Aiza-Matet episode airs right on Valentine’s Day.

But if you’re an avid Aiza fan who prefers to watch her live on the 14th, you may do so at Crossroad ’77 where she has a solo concert billed as It’s Magic. She has as guests Kyla and the Manila Youth Pop Orchestra.

Crossroad ’77 is at the corner of Mother Ignacia Ave. and Scout Reyes St., QC (in front of St. Mary’s College). For tickets to It’s Magic, go to any SM Ticketnet outlets which you may locate by calling 911-5555. Tickets may be reserved by calling A-Media Center at 373-0680.

As for Matet, if you’re a big fan of her, you may see more of her by watching the ABS-CBN 2 soap opera Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan where she portrays the young villain Lucila. And do you know that she got the role after the network’s showbiz talk show The Buzz paraded week after week a string of women all claiming to be her biological mom? Matet, as has always been known, is an adopted daughter of Nora Aunor.
