    Cool

Trigun is my absolute favorite anime, too!! Its having a Western setting keeps it apart from the other stories that usually focus on heroes who are martial arts experts. I like the way the story was developed, plus it also showed that despite Vash looking like some freak show, he had a human side as well. And most importantly, sobrang gwapo ni Vash di ba??

Kulitin mo si Yasuhiro Nightow para gumawa siya ng bagong series. I want some more heavy metal!

    Weapons

Vash the Stampede: silver six-shooter, cybernetic gun, angel arm

Nicholas D. Wolfwood: Cross Punisher (small caliber guns, rapid fire submachine gun, rocket launcher)

Meryl Stryfe: derringers (lots of them)

Milly Thompson: Stun gun ( a huge gun that fires bullets that assume an X figure once released. As the name implies, it was meant to stun a target, not injure it)

    and my favorite villain...

Millions Knives: black six-shooter and the angel arm (angel arms, if he gets Vash's gun)

Kahit hindi involved si Nightow. Di ba the anime was very different from the manga in terms of art style, story, etc. More of a based-on-the manga story, so ok lang kahit walang input or new manga galing kay Nightow.

I saw a 3 disc DVD set of Trigun at Animenia ( or was it?) at Southmall. Mahal naman, 850 isang disc, kaya 2T++ ang set. Orig kaya yun?

I wouldn't know. I don't buy DVD because I don't have a player. It would be nice to have one though. My Trigun collection was DVD-copied and I managed to see a part of the DVD menu. So nice!

    ***

I really love this anime so I'm going to post some interesting tidbits about the anime from time to time.

    ***

Frank Marlon (episode 3) - famous gunsmith of Warrens City. He became a hero when the city was attacked by bandits many years ago. He armed the entire city with guns which he himself made. He became a drunkard though when he lost his wife and kid in a bank robbery. Losing his wife and kid was bad enough, but learning that they were killed by people using guns he made was even worse. His life changed when Vash helped the city people fight off some bank robbers. Vash was able to convince him that there was a need to help the poor and weak.

His name will be mentioned again in a later episode when Wolfwood, talking to Vash, mentioned that a Frank Marlon fixed Vash's six-shooter for free.

Not sure...english sites kasi nakikita ko eh. I've seen Cross Punisher on more than one site, but that doesn't mean it's really the name of his weapon. Maybe if Trigun had an official site. If it had one, I would like to see it.

As far as I know, isa lang ang Cross Punisher niya. Yun nga lang, nung earlier episodes, ang ginagamit niya ay yung mga maliliit na baril lang. Pipitsugin kasi yung mga kalaban eh. Pero nung latter episodes, ginamit na niya yung submachine gun. But it's the same gun.

Descartes and Ruth Loose - first opponents of the Humanoid Typhoon. Descartes was a 12-foot fat man with a mohawk and was surrounded by a lot of henchmen. Ruth Loose was a bounty hunter of average build. Descartes' weapon was a huge boomerang which was attached to a strong rope so he can better control it. Ruth's weapon was a weird looking rifle that seemed to have 2 bullet cartridges.

Descartes destroyed Dankin Town as he searched for Vash. On the other hand, Ruth Loose damaged Felnarl Town considerably in his own search for Vash.

Meryl Stryfe - agent of the Bernardelli Insurance Agency. Quite small and thin. Very impulsive and brave. She carries a lot of derringers (small guns that have, it appears, one bullet each), all of which are holstered inside her cloak.

Milly Thompson - agent of the Bernardelli Insurance Agency. Unusually tall (she is almost as tall as Vash). Not quite as brave as Meryl, but she is very smart (although she doesn't know it). Quite a drinker too. She wields a huge stun gun (though frankly, I don't know where she keeps it).

It says Cross Punisher on the carton of the Wolfwood toy. But then again, it's an English toy so...

Cliff Schezar - a wealthy water merchant. He was responsible for turning his town into a virtual ghost town by hoarding all the water, forcing people to leave. In the showdown with Vash, he first used a pistol, then a bunch of guns that were hidden under his upper garment. He missed, even at point blank range. Vash says that he was a terrible shot, but we all know Vash is just too quick (ala Neo of The Matrix).

Marianne Aura Cayzen - an undercover detective. She was gathering evidence against Cliff when she was shot by him. She eventually became a guest of Cliff. Vash immediately fell for her when they met. She soon discovered the place was Cliff was hoarding the water, but her injury prevented her from taking on Cliff. Vash eventually saved her, and she recognized the goodness in him even though he looked and acted like a dork. She remarked that women may fall for him, and Meryl strongly disagreed.

The Nebraska family - the first opponents that forced Vash to use his gun. The younger Nebraska, Gofsef, uses his fist (synthetic) to act like a retractable cannonball. He's ugly too!

Incidentally, this was the episode where Meryl acknowledged the fact that the dork in red is actually the legendary gunman called Vash the Stampede, the Humanoid Typhoon with a $$60,000,000,000 price on his head.
