Well look at it this way bro, Portis was projected to be in the 12-18 ranking. We all know we need younger legs in the front court and all the Bulls target on PG were taken by the time they were on the clock. So they went with the talent that was available. Its probably a good pick to develop.

Also, I actually think, the Bulls will do nothing in the off season but resign Jimmy B and Dunleavy (yup...). I don't think they can get any talent in return for Taj and Noah when the stocks of both players are down due to injury. Maybe mid-season when both players get to play and show they ain't done yet.
Sino ba target sana nila dude pag sa pg? Many have said nga na Bulls are so lucky he landed on us. Si Pippen pala mismo Nag scout sa kanya.

For sure J Buckets will be back yun nga lang expect na natin on his own short term & Dunleavy really Kung hindi nga lang na operahan si Taj hindi na tayo mag a antay ng mid season.

I want dunleavy back coz Snell is not yet ready to be a starting sf. i don't expect significant upgrade at 3 from the FO anyway.

AT pg i prefer we sign an experienced one. a rookie pg cant be trusted in the playoffs.

    http://hoopshype.com/2015/06/11/nba-...his-offseason/

my options are mo williams, sergio rodriguez, kendall marshall if he recovers from acl.

tapos back-up pa ni jimmy. kung kaya si jamal crawford. i think clips will let him go as they traded for born ready stephenson.

I hope the F.O will make the move this free agency to have a decent back up pg & sg cause we know gano ka importante for Rose & Butler to have fresher legs sa playoffs. The news is Bulls are ready to pay the luxury tax anyways

"Although Butler wants to sign a one-year deal with the Lakers, according to a league source familiar with his thinking, the Bulls are expected to match any offer for the restricted free agent," Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reported."

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...s-stars-future

I think this is just bogus. anyway we can match any offer. but a one-year deal, really? jimmy, give 2 years to a fringe contender in Chicago. we are in better shape to win than LA. like one small step below GSW, OKC, CLE and SAS.

i think jimmy butler is not yet ready for a bigger role on offense. if and only if he chooses to go to LA and be Kobe's "heir."
last year, we had Rose and Gasol so the defense could not really clamp down on him. even mirotic had his moments.

I forgot the names, medyo di ko kasi sinundan yung draft pero 3 yung PG na inaasahan ng Bulls na sana mapunta sa kanila pero nakuha lahat kagad.

Jimmy B's agent is trying to increase his stock in the FA market. No team can offer Jimmy a 1yr contract. It has something to do with the current CBA which I need to read on about. lol!

who'll be the best available back up point guard this time?

    http://hoopshype.com/2015/06/11/nba-...his-offseason/

    1. Goran Dragic
    Unrestricted / Point Guard / 6-3 / Team: Miami
    16.3 ppg, 4.5 apg, 3.5 rpg
The top point guard of a weak free agent class at this position. There will be no shortage of offers, but Dragic has said he hopes to stay in Miami.

Agent: Rade Filipovich 2014/15 Earnings: $7,500,000 Career Earnings: $30,116,000

    2. Brandon Knight
    Restricted / Point Guard / 6-3 / Team: Phoenix
    17.0 ppg, 5.2 apg, 3.9 rpg

    3. Reggie Jackson
    Restricted / Point Guard / 6-3 / Team: Detroit

    4. Rajon Rondo
    Unrestricted / Point Guard / 6-1 / Team: Dallas
    8.9 ppg, 7.9 apg, 5.5 rpg
His stint with Dallas has been a disaster and thatís going to hurt him in free agency. Kobe Bryant has a soft spot for him. Future in Los Angeles?

    5. Patrick Beverley
    Restricted / Point Guard / 6-1 / Team: Houston
    10.1 ppg, 3.4 apg, 4.2 rpg
Not much of a scorer or a playmaker, but will make life hard for opposing guards with his defensive tenacity.

    6. Jeremy Lin
Unrestricted / Point Guard / 6-3 / Team: LA Lakers
    11.2 ppg, 4.6 apg

    7. Maurice Williams

    11.6 ppg, 3.2 apg
Has a career average of just 3.3 apg, but thereís no denying heís scoring threat every time heís on the floor.

Agent: Leon Rose 2014/15 Earnings: $915,243 Career Earnings: $13,972,851

    9. Beno Udrih

    13. Jameer Nelson
Player Option / Point Guard / 6-0 / Team: Denver

Bulls interested in Gary Neal ó report

I guess they believe Neal will be cheaper than the rest.

    Also:

Bobby Portis brings doughnuts to Bulls media

    Yes,

    We need a Backup PG
    Butler already signed with us
hoping we can bring Dun2 next and if not we can bring Beli.

Kirk optin on his final year
so we have almost the same line up from last year.
Portiz will be the only addition.

    Rose, AB
    Jb, KH,
    Snell, Mcbuckets
    Gasol, Taj, Portiz
    Noah

  10. #50
^ how could you forget Miro.

my depth chart for next season.

    PG- Rose/Gary Neal/Hinrich
    SG- Jimmy/Snell/Hinrich
    SF- Dunleavy/McDermott
    PF- Mirotic/Gibson/Portis
    C- Noah/Gasol/Portis

I hope Gasol agrees to play off the bench considering his age. also, it will be tiring for old Gasol to play a lot of minutes in an uptempo offense.

Noah can play his best position, and we will just hope he can bounce back. Mirotic should improve further under hoiberg's sytem.

Guys, hindi pa nag sign si Butler.

They are waiting for the incoming cap computation kasi mukhang tataas daw ng $2M ang Salary. So yung max contract ay magiging $16M - 1st year.

So more than likely mag sign si Butler ng 3 yrs with opt out for last year. Para maka-todo ng max contract siya ng maaga.

The FO was stupid not to raise their offer last year and now is paying for it.

  12. #52
As per the news Butler is seeking for a 3 year max and PO for the fourth Season. roughly $51M.

The Bulls also began casting a wide net to add a veteran guard. Rodney Stuckey, Gary Neal, Mo Williams, JJ Barea and Jeremy Lin are just some on the Bullsí list.

For me Gasol of the bench with Taj would be good
    we can have
    Rose
    Butler
    Dun2
    Miro
    Noah for the starting 5

^butler postponed meetings with other teams. that's a very good sign he'll re-sign.

in fairness to FO, Butler did not put up all-star numbers in 2013-14. so there's no urgency to increase the offer. kamalasan lang ang last season dahil yung breakout year niya coincided with the last year of his contract.

mahirap din yung sobrang long-term, baka maging complacent si butler

Jimmy Butler Considering Five-Year Max Offer From Bulls

Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler is giving consideration to accepting the franchise's offer of a five-year maximum contract, league sources told RealGM.

The current offer sheet must include a player option on the fifth season for Butler to consider accepting, sources said.

Despite Butler's interest in probing the market over the past several months, sentiment increased Tuesday that Butler would be open to a deal that includes trade kickers, max year-to-year raises and the option of his choice.

Butler plans to sleep on the decision, months after turning down an extension offer from the Bulls.

This is better than Jimmy B accepting a 3yr w/ opt out. Do it FO!

Since Jimmy B re-signing drama is the only exciting thing we have this off season. Here is some FO article to spice things up. lol!

So... Why Are the Bulls Going into the Luxury Tax Again?

Answer: so GarPax don't look stupid.

News from the Bulls' front office that they will pay the luxury tax has surprised many fans this offseason. But there is an ulterior motive to GarPax's generosity.

This is a make or break year for Garpax. They were able to spin the propaganda machine to play damage control when they fired the second most successful head coach this franchise has had since Phil Jackson.

The story that paints Fred Hoiberg as an analytics oriented offensive guru and Thibs as a stubborn nineties coach is about to be tested, and if the team flounders, GarPax will have major egg on their face.

Imagine if the Bulls team is really bad this year. Fans will naturally come to the conclusion that the hiring of Hoiberg was a mistake, and GarPax will look like idiots in the same veign as Krause hiring Tim Floyd.

The situation will be even worse for them if, in addition to the Bulls getting worse, Thibs succeeds wherever he lands next. This would be more evidence that Thibs was in the right (and is even more incentive for Thibs to wait it out for better coaching situations next year).

GarPax should be willing to do whatever it takes to make sure the team looks good this year. Note that they're completely willing to pay the tax to save their egos and jobs, but refused to push JR when the team, you know, actually was competing for a title.

I would never root for a Bulls team to lose, but if they do we at least will have proof that GarPax made the same mistakes as Krause, letting their hubris get in the way of what was best for the team. History is doomed to repeat itself with the Bulls, and if GarPax are fired, look for another puppet to take the helm with the same results.

  16. #56
^still prefer that jimmy signs for five years and continues improving.

What can we expect from reinsdork and his puppets. FOr him, the BUlls is only a money-making business. And oh, our team is one at the top 5 of merchandise sold last season. IF only we have a reason to give reinsdork the Donald Sterling treatment so we can have a better owner.

IF we didn't have thibs in the last 5 seasons, we could have been worse than the Knicks. Hoiberg is gonna have a pressure-packed 1st season. I can only hope that Hoi succeeds to offset owner and FO incompetence.

Well either Hoiberg proves GarPax to be right or its Krause and Tim Floyd scenario all over again.

    Also:

Confirming @WojYahooNBA Tweet Dunleavy has verbally agreed to 3-year deal. And as reported late last night, Butler leaning to 5yr with PO.

Dunleavy deal includes a partial guarantee in the third year of the contract, sources tell Yahoo.

    And

    Marc Stein
Hearing Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler is leaning strongly toward taking the five-year, $90 mil max Chicago offered as opposed to shorter deal.

    - Possible 5 yr w/ opt out in final yr.

    Shams Charania
Jimmy Butler is considering accepting Bulls' 5-year max deal, w/ option on Year 4, league sources tell RealGM. Plans to sleep on decision.

Bulls off season is almost over.

Report: Bulls, Jimmy Butler finalizing five-year max contract worth $95 million

Jimmy Butler is finalizing a five-year, $95 million maximum contract to re-sign with the Chicago Bulls, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Butlerís deal will include a player option after the fourth year of the deal, sources told Yahoo.

Teams pursuing Butler with offer sheet proposals have conceded and moved on, league sources said.

    ---

Now the Bulls will look for a back up PG for MMLE and that will wrap up the off season for Chicago.

    Tax and no flexibility. lol!

at least Bulls was able to keep Jimmy. now for that back up PG...
