    Post Drive

Do you drive? If yes, how long have you been driving? Who taught you how to drive? If nope, what prevents you to not be behind the wheel?

As for me, I want to learn how to drive... but then again, wala pa naman akong mada-drive eh. I don't have a car. Maybe if I'm working already and could buy my own, I'd try having lessons.

Another reason, I have three characteristics that's definitely a no-no when you're driving: 1st. Matatakutin ako. I always panic. 2nd. Malabo mata ko. 3rd and the worst, I have no sense of direction whatsoever. Hehe!

And besides, my brothers know how to drive and my sister's learning. Why drive when you have three drivers?!?

    Thumbs up

ako i'm 19 now, tinuruan ako ng mom ko since i was 12 and at that time i was alrdy driving arnd the village *** lang automatic pa noon. Then nung 16 ako naka kuha na ako ng students permit so i can drive sa labas na kaya lang laging may kasama. Then during my 17th bday nakakuha na ako ng non-pro so mag isa na akong nakaka drive. Ang sirap ng feeling mag drive at first kase you feel so grown up na. Pero after a while nakaka pagod na din e. Naka bangga ako once pero atkst owner lang na jeep so wala syang gasgas. Na traumatize ako pero I got over it din. TRy to dricve kse it's a necessity na eh. Wag kang matakot noh! Kaya mo yan!

the first time i drove our car was when I was in 6th grade. May driver pa kami nun e.. pinayagan naman niya ko. La kaming automatic kaya sanay ako sa manual. Aliw mag drive... parang I can go wherever I want... Ngayon pa nga lang, namimili na ko sa mga kotse namin para pag nakuha ko na license ko, ronda lang around!

i've been driving for 8 yrs already.. i started when i was 13..
i learned how to drive by myself. first, i observed how the driver does it and one day, i just drove the car out of the house.. i almost got bumped to one of the houses in the village because i don't know how to break, fortunately, the driver saw me and run after the car.. after that, he thought me the basics.. since then, i started to practice driving everyday until i went out of the village to drive on the hi-way!

Ive been driving for 8 years already. My mom taught me how to drive. Naalala ko pa, gamit namin yung yellow beetle, tapos sa airport runway kami nag-practice.

Now, im the designated driver, although I hate it, lalo na pag-traffic.

i do drive...i've been doing so for the past 8 years...

*keyah*about your worries, i must tell that i had the same worries; i have poor vision so i wear glasses, matatakutin din ako but i grew out of it, and the poor sense of direction i think afflicts most of us girls, that's why we have our boys for that ....so you should try it, the sheer independence when you're driving alone is enough incentive to do so...kahit pa maraming pedeng drivers, iba pa rin kung sa ikaw mismo ang in control of where you're going, di ba?

about mishaps, nothing major...i was backing out of a parking slot and was about to move forward when this stupid gal backed up also from the parking slot opposite me and she had the gall pa to shout at my sis and me when she's the one at fault... ...happened only recently

Uy, hindi yata ako papayag, ha! Some guys I know can't navigate at all. They'd be lost forever if it weren't for cellphones. Oh, and us girls... I'd say you just have to be a little more attentive to the roads you take, even when you're not behind the wheel, in order to be able to successfully find your way around.

As for me, I've been since I was about 14, pero to the mall and back lang coz I didn't have a license. Afterwards, kung saan-saan na ako umaabot! Sarap mag long distance driving, lalo na kung out-of-town. Wag lang traffic. I don't know why but there's something about shifting gears and accelerating that appeals to me...

Accidents? Yeah, I got rear-ended once on the way to the airport coz the (female) driver behind me was on her celly and failed to hit the brakes on time. At siya pa ang galit, ha!

Alam mo, lakasan lang talaga ng loob. Pero sa umpisa lang yan! You'll soon get the hang of it. Just keep your wits about you (ie. do NOT challenge the big, bad, buses on EDSA). And if you're a girl, try to drive around alone at night. Mahirap na, eh...

But KuLit88 is right: being behind the wheel gives you this great feeling of independence not quite any other.

    Good luck!

yes, i drive. i learned how to drive when i graduated from college...(tanda ko na pala natuto!) i took lessons from a driving school for ten days... after ten days, hindi pa rin ako masyado marunong magdrive and mag-park, i still need polishing and i still had to try night driving, so practice pa ako with my kuya paikot-ikot kami sa isang village.... i remember my very first attempt at driving, my first day behind the wheel, the instructor allowed me to drive on the highway... feeling ko non parang lahat ng sasakyang kasalubong ko babangga sa amin ...

tama si virgo14 lakasan lang ng loob ang pag-dadrive. dati madali rin ako mag-panic pero later on nakasanayan ko na rin, and like you i also have no sense of direction, ang dali-dali kong maligaw, sabi nga nila if ever i lose my job wag na wag daw akong magta-taxi driver...

    Cool

I've been driving since I was 18 yrs old. It relaxes me when I drive. I've never been in an accident na major but I had an experience in EDSA where a private jeepney lost control of his brakes and hit me real hard on my back, right bumper and sent my car to a partial spin. I was so shocked kasi TRAFFIC at that time! Eh puro lalaki sila so I just had it fixed through my insurance company.

I learned how to drive when I was still in 7th grade .. tas lancer pa ng boxtype at manual pa yun. But after I got back from Australia, lahat ng cars namin changed to automatic na and the only manual we have is the L300 which I cant drive dahil parang bus!

I never took driving lessons (waste of money) .. it was only my Dad and the driver who taught me how. Tas practice around the village.

I've been officially driving (meaning with license) for 5 years already and good to say I'm a certified MANILA driver already (if you know what I mean). I drive an automatic which is very convenient pag traffic at mabigat sa bulsa dahil umiinom to ng gas (hello .. I drive from Filinvest QC to DLSU and back!)

    Car mishaps ..

Last week I got caught for disregarding traffic signs pero nagmakaawa ako dun sa lady police dun sa corner ng Tomas Morato and E. Rodroguez. Late na kasi ako and ayuuunn . .. pagliko ko pinara na ako. Nagbayad na lang ako .. P150 .. kesa naman mahirapan pa ako kunin sa city hall yun noh!

Tas last year, nabangga ako ng jeep. Naatrasan nya yung right lights ko sa harap. Basag natural. La naman ako magawa. Grabe kasi kung makaatras! Di naman kasi ako tutok (promise!!) This happened at Vito Cruz Extension right after St. Scholastica's College.

Yun pa lang po. wag na sana iba!

If yes, how long have you been driving? hmmm... almost 2 yrs na ata
Who taught you how to drive? my dad. his constant grouchiness and patience (NOT!) was worthwhile naman daw, hehehe

alam mo *keyah*, lahat tayo dumadaan sa ganyang stage na matatakutin, you should've seen me b4!! may tricycle lang sa opposite lane grabe ang takot ko! i was on a nervous wreck!

and like what others have mentioned, i prefer to be the one behind the wheel kase i feel na i'm independent...
and besides, i have no frickin choice being the first born...pero oks lang naman

    kayang-kaya mo yan girl!!

hmmm as for accidents... last, last week i was soooo sleepy when i drove my sister to school so while i was on reverse, sumobra... *crash* bumaba yung rear ng sentra ko. *huhu* not to mention yung paint pero at least i didn't crashed into other cars, kase sa pader naman... kaso nga lang i'm SCARRED FOR LIFE NA. masyado ko atang dinibdib....hehehe whaaa, bawas allowance na naman! *damn*

anyway, hindi pa ako natututong mag-drive, pero okay lang hindi naman ako nagmamadali... willing pa ang mga siblings ko na mag-drive for me, tsaka my dad bought a car na madaling matutunang i-drive, just for me!
