It's De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde not DLSU College of Saint BenildeThe label "DLSU" is nowhere to be found, making it distinctively a separate entity from DLSU.
It would not make any sense to offer the same programs on both universities. Offering HRIM in DLSU and also offering HRIM in CSB will further give the image that CSB is a secondary/inferior to DLSU.
It's understandable if the two schools were far away from each other, but the two schools are just neighbors, all the more reason the two schools should have been integrated if confidence in "right brain" courses are absolute.
The two could have shared classrooms, shared the same library resources, and even widen the academic portfolio of DLSU-Manila.
It's either you have complete faith in your program that you offer it through De La Salle Univesity - Manila or you have partial faith in your programs that you had to take the effort of building a separate institution, under a new name, just across the street.
I'm not looking down on people studying in arts school naman, heck I have a lot of respect for people in the creative field because it's a talent that is almost impossible to acquire haha.
Nakakapanghinayang lang na they had to create a separate entity for CSB when they could have just simply offered the programs in DLSU.
It would have broaden the academic portfolio of DLSU sana.
Yun langLa na akong masasabi hehe
DLSU-College of Saint Benilde or DLSU-CSB (1988-2003)
De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde or DLS-CSB (2004-present)
^
Correct me if I'm wrong but it is. College of Saint Benilde is not under/part of any De La Salle University but instead CSB stand Alone as an Institution that is part of the De La Salle System. Under the DLS-System you have DLSU-M, DLSU-D, DLSU-Araneta and DLS-CSB etc.
It is now DLS-CSB not DLSU-CSB like before na part pa siya ng DLSU-M.
Napanisin ko ito noong sumakay ako ng LRT. Before ang nakalagay ay De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde ngayon De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde doon sa Main Building nila.
Iba ang approach ng CSB hindi conventional tulad ng karamihang colleges/universities sa pinas.![]()
Maraming magagaling and artistic sa CSB and siguro ang kinaiigitan nila maraming Rich-Kid sa CSB na nagagawa nila ang gusto nila and at the same time may degree sila. Karamihan sa kanila after graduation nagtatayo ng sariling business.![]()
Yes it was DLSU-CSB then and DLS-CSB now. Before, it was using DLSU-Manila's charter but then dropped the University status because it still lacks elements for it to be qualified as a University independently.
CSB was not included in the DLSU system since it has its own Brother President and own charter.
DLSU System has decentralized itself. Before DLSU System has only one President "Bro. Armin Luistro", but now, it has several Brother Presidents all over the Philippines that manages his territory and is independent from DLSU Manila.
CSB though indeed not included in the DLSU system before is still La Salle Brother owned.
If La Salle brothers doesn't want to associate CSB to La Salle, then it would have not been named as DLS-CSB but any other name without the DLS prefix

Brainfart: I don't really get it why/how someone could "hate" another just because he/she studies in a particular school. Like how racism goes.
I accidentally saw this thread and natawa ko sa mga nabasa ko. Andame palang galit sa csb. Hahaha. Actually graduate ako ng csb. I can say madali talaga ang entrance exam sa csb compared to other schools, but let me tell you its not easy to pass subjects here especially major subjects kase professors are really well trained and professionals. And let me clear one thing hindi nababayaran ang mga teachers dito because most of them are richer than the students. Hahaha. And ikaw mismo ang mahihiyang kausapin or bayaran sila because alam mong hindi mo kayang pantayan yung sweldo nila or yung prinsipyo nila. Madame lang talagang students dito na easy go lucky kase they thought csb is an easy school and madali ngang makapasok. Pero makalusot ka man sa entrance mahihirapan ka tlagang makagraduate so yung mga iresponsible students they either learn to be responsible and determined or transfer school kase sometimes a student is not permitted to over-stay kung sobrang tagilid talaga. Basta im sure na csb is one of the best schools talaga when it comes to quality of education, facilities, mentors, trainings, and opportunities.
bakit daw kasi rejected sa benilde ang mga current thomasians ngayon?![]()

Kasi inggit sila sa pera mo! Mag-enjoy ka na lang dyan at mag-work sa singapore after!![]()
Wow! This is funny verging on pathetic. LOL.
At first I thought this kind of "attack" would be easily brushed of by whoever is affected. But to my amusement, your reactions are just proving your guilt and that you believe whatever this "attack" is saying. It is quite easy to rise above criticism and HATE,(if you may) if you really have strong convictions. The fact that this thread was able to attract people and fill up 17 pages of discussion proves otherwise. Why would anyone value the opinion of an outsider, free of any kind of first hand experience or knowledge about CSB? "I know myself. I can define myself. You can muse about what I can be with blinding faith and aching delusion."
I am trying my best not to judge anyone while I was reading through all of this. But c'mon! After reading 17 pages of a futile argumentation, all I can think about was how people easily stoop down their "pedestal" so to speak, just to mock others and how others obsessively want to step up from where they stand. As much as I do not want to perpetuate the whole hierarchy and social class, this is really my initial reaction when I encountered this thread. Claws, steps and a lot of hate.
Thank you for giving me an idea for my next article though![]()
