I try to save but I use my savings for pocket money, I normally book my tickets with the use of credit card.

Maganda yung biglaang trip esp pag payday, kasi mahirap mag-plano, most likely di natutuloy

For me, meron akong savings intended for trips/vacation which I find very helpful

I have to save, being an employee. I have savings though, like a quarter of my salary goes to it, automatically, and my rule is not to use it unless its an emergency, so that rules out using it for funding my trips.

I would have to take out something to compensate my travel budget, like kay miss_cleo, less shopping,

for my tax return, I save that for my trip back home to pinas for my vacation,

credit cards, I only use them for my food, souvenirs, and for security that I have extra funding,

but I would not use them to credit for my plane fare and hotels,

And I wont loan to travel. The reason why I travel is to relax, and i dont think Id be able to relax if I know may utang akong $2,000 (plane fare and hotel expenses).

    I rather pay in advance.

And which is why it takes 6-8 months of planning and saving before I go on the actual trip.

sa totoo mas madaling mag travel ngayon kesa dati.

my parents were professionals naman in established companies in pinas,

so were my titos and titas,

pero parang di sila madaling maka-abroad dati, like I witnessed, in the mid 80s and 90s when I was growing up.

sa Japan lang kami nagpunta dati, when were younger, cos of my dad's business trip, naisama nya kami.

pero di kami makaalis pa abroad as a family, dati. locally we could, like pa Cebu, and Davao,

my parents went to Europe in a package with their friends dati, its for their anniversary celebration, so we yielded.

it took much of the family savings, and they vow not to travel again in a tour like that yung iba ibang bansa at one time(this was in the early 90s).

pero ngayon, parang ang dali lang, yung mga kapatid ko, in their first 3 years of working, naka Hongkong or Singapore na sila. Especially Malaysia, . Parang 2 years pa lang ata, naka Kuala Lumpur na sila.

another proof, was my h.s. teachers, naka US pa sila, sa San Diego, they were in a group package. kakatuwa nga eh.

mas affordable ngayon ang trips kesa dati.

planning is vital pag "abroad trips", but local pwede kunin sa salary kung may extra.

I opened another bank account specifically for this purpose.
Yung naipon ko now is enough for my next trip.
Then, I have to save again for my first solo backpacking experience.
