Who's better: 5-peat Baste vs 4-peat USTe

Two college teams lorded it over their respective leagues during the 1990's - UST in the UAAP and San Sebastian in the NCAA. The 4-time champs UST had Espino, Cantonjos, Singson, & Co., while the 5-time winners Baste had Adducul, Rodney Santos, Brixter Encarnacion, etc. Who's the real college champs of the 90's?

***** yung baste team kasi *** 5-peat against only 4-peat of uste e. make sense di ba? tapos whenever there's a battle of the champions, i heard baste ang laging nananalo over uste.

I could say baste was better at that time in terms of records and wins against UST. The main strenght kasi ng baste was that they have an intact line-up almost all throughout. Every year iba-iba ang star player ng UST( may grumadate then the protege will lead) and still they manage to win 4 straight. In terms of wins, baste but in terms of talents produced in that span i could say uste.

If you combine the best of the baste players in that span and play against the best Uste players in that span, i think hands down mananalo ang UST. (Adducul, Encarnacion, Ocampo, Calpito vs. David, Espino, Cantonjos, Singson)

SSC and UST both deserve recognition as College Dynasties. Both teams dominated the field and showed talent and class all the way.

I could say UST is better, because in their 4 peat they had different players meaning that their team was deeper, and considering the degree of competition, for me the UAAP is more competitive and more abundant in talented players and teams, UST is Better

ust's 4-year championship run is one less than ssc's but we gotta remember that there is stronger competition in the uaap...
the tigers which swept the 1993 uaap season is considered as probably the strongest collegiate team of all time...in the battle of champions, ust easily defeated baste in 1994 and 1995..but the tigers lost in mcdonalds cup in 1996... i think ssc is stronger in the latter part of the 90s when rommel adducul remained in the team while the likes of espino and evangelista enlisted in the pba

I'd have to agree and emphasize the fact that the level of competition was and still is much higher in the UAAP than in the NCAA. Therefore, my vote would definitely go to UST. The sweep in 1993 and 3 consecutive wins over powerhouse La Salle is definitely a bigger accomplishment.

Who's better??!!
Look where the Baste players are now, and the Uste players now. Only Dale is in the MBA, the rest in PBA.
One more thing, mas balanced at mas malalakas ang teams sa UAAP than NCAA.
When Baste was up there, may mabigat ba silang kalaban ?? May kalaban pero hindi gatsbi. Sa UAAP, lagi.

hindi usapin dito kung ilan nakuhang championship...but kung gaano kahirap at gaano kalakas ang kalaban plus yung pag palit palit ng players nila every year pero andun pa rin yung lakas ng team.

yes indeed kasama yung dami ng championship which is 5 pero hindi lang yun ang dapat pag basehan.
nakita niyo ba kung gaano kalakas ang DLSU na may Lago brothers at maui roca, telan, webb at tyrone bautista ? isama mo na rin si chris tan na 3point specialist.
napanood nyo ba yung last free throw ni bal david na sumisigaw ng "IPASOK NYO LORD!" habang ang lahat ng tao nasa loob ng araneta maging tomasino o lasalista eh nakatayo at pigil hininga dahil sa 1 point lang ang lamang ng DLSU ? yung ibang Lasalle na umiiyak dahil hawak hawak ang rosaryo at mga bibliya na nagdarasal na naka pikit maging ito man ay studyante at magulang ? sino makaka limot noon ?
sino ang makakapagsabi na madali kumuha ng championship na umabot ng ilang beses na overtime sa isang serye ?
sino makakalimot sa mga lasalistang umiiyak dahil nawala sa kamay nila ang mithiing kampeonato ?
malakas ang la salle kumpara sa nakalaban ng baste sa kanilang championship. ilang beses umiyak ang lasalle sa Ust dahil tinalo nila ito. masama sa kanila ito lalo na nung lumabas at kumalat yung slogan na "WHEN WILL YOU EVER LEARN?" na may tigre at kagatkagat ang nabaling pana ng archer.
isang bese lang tinalo ng la salle ang uste sa championship mula noon at yun ay kapanahunan pa ni gerard francisco na isang rookie mula sa UST cubs.
sino ba makakalimot kay Henry Ong na kung bumato ng 3 point eh napakalayo sa professional mark ?

kakaiba ang championship na 4 ng UST dahil walang katulad kung kumpara sa 5 ng baste.
panoorin niyo at masdan niyo ang mga kilos lahat ng manonood.

dude you really have issues about baste! why do you keep on trying to ruin ssc' s reputation?I don't want to be rude to you or something but its just that I can't help noticing that you are really trying to point out that baste was'nt all that!!! hope you will soon realize that you should stop hating and start to appreciate..maybe someday your dream will come true,maybe your dream of letran becoming a champion will happen.But for now you should learn to accept that they are not champion material im sorry but thats the truth

i think UST... its not all about numbers... but baste is good! pero compare it during the time na nag 4peat ang ust at 5peat ang baste.. i think UST talaga...

pero between NCAA and UAAP.. i beg to disagree na mas ok ang UAAP... like what i always say...

UAAP is and will always be a shadow of NCAA...

seriously we should all be proud that baste had five championships and that teams in the UAAP don't have that..You are trying to make it sound that NCAA teams are not competetive enough,if you think uste is better than baste at that time how come baste always win in the battle of the champions?they are both good the only difference was baste have 5 championship titles and they only got 4
