I see him 2x a year to have my eyes checked.
kaya whitefox, try to see him para maayos yung grade ng eyes mo.

Well, like I said, ang nakakakita ng complications, ophthalmologist kasi. Kaya usually glasses ang binibigay namin.

Happy New Year, bea19, whitefox and everybody else!

Thanks Bea19 sa referral. I hope di sya sobrang mahal sumingil.
Siguro, I might switch to toric lenses na lang after 6 months.

Well, at least alam mo na

hi! i was reading the posts and i was sort of surprised when i found out that some people actually found cleaning their contacts tedious. i never found it to be a burden because i just use that 3-in-1 solution and that's what i want to ask about---is it ok if i just soak and clean it with that? i have a friend who also wears contacts and she told me that she had a variety of solutions and she even has a soap to cleanse her contacts with. medyo natakot ako kasi baka hindi ko nalilinis ng mabuti yung contacts ko and because i don't have those products. and now i read that some people find cleaning to be time-consuming! and so that got me thinking that maybe i'm doing things wrong. but my doctor never told me about the soaps and stuff and when i got my first pair about 3 yrs ago, it came with a kit, but no soap well, anyway, i hope that you can enlighten me re this.

btw, eyedoc, i just want to commend you for doing an excellent job in this thread! your help is very much appreciated!

finally, i just want share huwag kayong mag-swimming with your contacts on (even with goggles). i thought that you could do that (eh sabi nila pwede daw mag-sports pag may contacts) and when i went swimming with speedo goggles and i took my contacts off after. the next morning, my eyes hurt like hell and i could barely open them! it turns out my contacts stuck to my eyes and when i took them off, i tore my corneas!!!! my eyes were bandaged shut for a week! well, yun lang. huwag niyo lang gayahin ako.

Happy New Year everybody! whitefox ang consultation fee ni Dr. Salceda is P400 pero it's really worth it dahil ang daming nyang gagawin sa eyes mo to make sure na ok ito. And you only have to see him once diba.
Cielly baka cleanser hindi soap ang ibig sabihin ng friend mo kase i've never heard of a soap for contacts. Sabi rin ng doctor ko kahit hindi mo gnagamit yung lens mo you have to clean it atlst 3x a week kse naka store pa din sya eh. Use Renu or Alcon pag tinatamad kayo kase it cleans, rinses, stores, rewets and removes protein pa.

Minsan kaya lang ako nagcocontacts kse pag may swimming naha hassle ako. Yung goggles ko that i got from speedo eh may grade na sya pero nahihilo pa din ako pag sa swimming. Kaya i still use contacts. Be careful lang na wag malagyan ng water yung eyes mo kaya you have to really buy a good pair of goggles. And as always rewet your lens as often as possible.

    Thumbs up

For Cielly: Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad to be of help.

i just use that 3-in-1 solution and that's what i want to ask about---is it ok if i just soak and clean it with that?
    Yes, it's acceptable.

when i got my first pair about 3 yrs ago, it came with a kit, but no soap
There is no soap for contact lenses. Like Bea19 said, maybe it's the cleanser and not the soap.

a friend who also wears contacts and she told me that she had a variety of solutions
Personally, I feel that a separate cleanser and soaking solution will do the job better than a 3-in-1. The 3-in-1, however, is also acceptable already. The 3 solutions are the cleanser, the soaking solution and the lubricants. The reason why I think separate is better than 3-in-1 is separation of "jobs" would make it more efficient -- that is, more thorough cleansing, total removal of cleansing solution with soaking, and non-irritating lubricating drops.

Re: swimming with contact lenses on -- Yup, get the the most water tight goggles you can find. Try it on muna (without your contacts), dapat walang papasok na tubig. If you want, you can also try the graded goggles which Bea19 mentioned.

Again, NEVER go to bed with your contact lenses on.

yup tama si eyedoc. yung mga classmates ko mga tamad they sleep w/ their lenses on, ayun na infect ang mga mata. Pero ako nung bago pang nag susuot ng lens, nai22log ko for a week tapos nag dry. Ang hapdi talaga. Kung di maiwasan drop some lubricant before sleeping. Pero kung kaya mo naman tangalin, please do so.

i use disposable lenses and one time i couldn't find my container so i just wrapped it with tissue overnight. when i woke up it was all dried up and tumigas na. can those still be used or should i just throw them away?

since disposable naman ang lens mo, throw it out na lang and get a fresh pair. Don't risk getting an eye infection dahil sa pagtitipid.

    hi

lately, i've been experiencing this discomfort in my left eye...sometimes whenever i drop lubricant on it, with my contact lens on, medyo mahapdi pero later mawawala na. when i remove my contacts na, i sometimes drop visine tapos masakit din ng konti. pero later, wala na ulit yung discomfort. wala naman akong problem with my vision, di naman namumula yung left eye ko. i don't know if i'm paranoid lang, pero is it possible that i accidentally scratched my eyeball or something? or irritation lang? i want to consult a doctor sana e.

    please help. thank you.

How long have you had these symptoms? Since it's the weekend, you might try to rest your eyes from contact lens use and try to put in Tears Naturale II 4 times a day. You may just be experiencing extreme eye dryness, which could make your eyes more sensitive than usual. From the way you describe your symptoms, I don't think that you have an abrasion or ulcer on your cornea. Of course, I can't be sure without doing a complete eye examination. If the symptoms still persist or if you experience blurring of vision, pain or redness, it is still best to consult an ophthalmologist (like me ).

So have your eyes checked ASAP!

I’ve had these symptoms for a month already, kasi like I’ve mentioned, mawawala yung discomfort tapos babalik din later kaya I never paid much attention to it. Maybe you’re right, I think my eyes just dried up. Whenever it does, I ignore it minsan, I don’t drop lubricant sometimes. A friend of mine said she doesn’t trust the all-in-one solutions, kasi mas lalong nakaka-dry ng eyes ang mga solutions na ganito. And I think she’s right, maybe I’ll get rid of my all-in-one solution na. and i might try Tears Naturale II. thanx so much!!!
