I can only think of three schools...San Beda, Mapua and Benilde. All the other schools are too violent for the UAAP.

I believe CSB deserves to be in The UAAP but they're not yet a university which makes it impossible. As for San Beda yes I won't mind seeing them there but they're also a college and all boys pa sila. For Mapua I can't speak about it.

I think I have to agree with raffyp. Benilde can't be in UAAP because it's not very nice to see sister schools fighting over one trophy. It's mababaw. Trust me, it's very hard. Actually, we had a game with them just the other day eh. Kinda weird. But anyway, ANIMO BENILDE!

Hmmmm... nice topic basho, I just hope no one will start anything bad about Benilde again... Anyway, I do think we could be in UAAP, but I don't think we'd want to do that simply because, we don't want a rivalry between the DLSU and CSB Students. It's just too much to handle, di ba ?
Thanks for supporting CSB, manskey, raffyp, viemann, and Blazer21. Animo Benilde

jfhii:

DLSU-College of Saint Benilde is really a part of De La Salle University just like your new School of Fine Arts or Ateneo Professional Schools which is a part of Ateneo or the Asian Institute of Tourism which is a part of UP-Diliman.

Its just that it is financially independent from the Mother School - De La Salle University and thus is separately incorporated under the SEC.

De La Salle University Manila established the DLSU-College of Saint Benilde in 1988 to offer certain innovative and arts-related courses like Hotel & Restaurant Mgt., Culinary Arts & Multi-Media Arts - courses NOT offered in the Main Campus.

It has the same President - Brother Rolando Dizon FSC who is also the President of the schools under the De La Salle University System and the same Central Board of Trustees that govern all De La Salle University System schools' policies and decisions.

In fact it was De La Salle University Manila which requested the NCAA in 1998 to admit the DLSU-College of Saint Benilde in its seniors division and La Salle Greenhills in its juniors division starting in the schoolyear 1998-99.

So in the UAAP - I support DLSU in the varsity division and DLSZ in the juniors.

While in the NCAA - I support DLSU-CSB and of course LSGH in the juniors.

ANIMO LA SALLE!

DLSU argued in the case of Limpot and Cardel that CSB was part of DLSU. That really looks crazy from all angles.

DLSU should transfer some players to CSB. The guard line-up is overloaded. Next, Kong should have transferred to CSB and not Letran. I guess Favis was really the big influence.

Remember the law school concept of "legal fiction"? Creative, huh!

Do you think we could do the same with other Jesuit schools? Ang galing.

Of course Binky is a big influence. Mark's his player in high school. He must be a good coach to Kong, too, else how could the boy resist the perks of an Archer?

Tsk, tsk. All schools (even yours, I bet) have intensely emotional supporters -- whether in the UAAP, NCAA, NCRAA, CAAA, etc.

Well of course as usual, siyempre ipagsisiksikan naman ang Benilde. Kung sa NCAA, nangungulelat ang CSB. What else will be new, nothing but whipping boys and cellar dwellers. At least some member schools of the NCAA are legit like MIT SBC and UPHR, but CSB, you gotta be dreaming!!! Wake up and face reality!!!

Leftwinger, if you have watched NC recently, Benilde would have gone farther if not for the "banning" of Gatumbato for some strange eligibility reason. Also, if he chose to play for Benilde maybe they've gone someplace now.

But at least, they're winning.

Fit for the UAAP?

How dare you UAAP people even think that NCAA schools would be willing to join your lame league! The intensity of games in the NCAA will never be matched in the UAAP. You people have this strange notion that the UAAP is superior to the NCAA. Sorry kids, but the talent is in the oldest league in the Philippines. The thing is your loser schools could not handle the violence during their stay in the NCAA. This includes LaSalle, Ateneo, UP and UST. Well at least NCAA fans are not so pretentious that they have to remain in their seats while watching a frigging game. UAAP people you act like a basketball game has some sort of decorum or etiquette. The great rivalries were born in the NCAA not in the UAAP and so were the greatest athletes in the Philippines. I guess the reason why you UAAP people feel you're so much better than NC schools is that the elitist schools belong to the UAAP. Well who gives a flying fig! Collegiate sports is not about the money inside the students' pockets. As far as I'm concerned it's only Benilde who is trying hard to be at par with her UAAP counterpart. The Blazers haven't proven anything in the NCAA. And don't even try that Gatumbato sh_t! He got banned because he played for the PBL even when he did not finish his three-year residency in the NCAA. That's a clear violation of NCAA regulations. At least the NCAA honors rules unlike in the UAAP, where coaches and teams bribe the referees or buy players. You want more facts and figures pitting the NCAA and UAAP, try counting the number of Olympians coming from either league. Nothing personal, but real, no-nonsense athletics needs athletes and not rich, pretty boys trying to play out their playground fantasies. You UAAP people will never understand why the NCAA fans are so rowdy. I guess it's your sheltered lifestyle. Perhaps that's why your players can't hack it in the PBA.

UAAP vs. NCAA

We all know where the talent is.

GO San Beda fight!

tsk tsk tsk....
e di ba dapat, laging nasa ayos lahat ng bagay? kaya nga may etiquette?

yes, magulo at oo, magulo din sa UAAP, pero hindi kasing gulo ng liga nyo.

& how come you call UP UST DLSU & ADMU loser schools?....kaya pala nasa international rankings kami.....

NCAA may have the talent but UAAP has it ALL.

in reply to basho's Q: csb blazers!!

"The Blazers haven't proven anything in the NCAA."

they have -discipline...

" I guess the

-no, kung kayo kaya ang maging elitista at kami ordinaryo lang....pareho pa rin....we feel we're better kasi ....ewan.....magaling ang mga schools namin & at the same time magaling din sa sports........and can be found in one league...

shouldn't equate elitism to being the best. pwede rin pero not at all times..

sorry ramirez..

but since when does a basketball GAME
necessitate violence?

yes..that's how it was in the 70's...
but not just in the nc's...but in all
aspects of filipino life..martial law..
riots..it was violent just being in school!

and if the nc's dominate..
why then did it take Letran over twenty
years to break the record for most
titles won?..especially since the school
that held the record left over twenty
years ago..
