Nagtataka ako sayo bakit ang dami mong nareresearch about UP and other foreign universities. Will it feed your body and soul??? The truth is, it only hungers you more because you're ultimate dream of going into those institutions is quite out of reach. Hay, hanggang pangarap ka lang talaga. Sige, ok lang yan, libre ang mangarap. Hindi kita pipigilan jan.

Back to the topic, I did not claim that I passed UPCAT. Actually, I failed to meet the cut off of UP Diliman and Manila. I even failed ACET and was wait-listed in DLSUs AE-BSA program. The only entrance exam that I passed is USTET. I was reconsidered in La Salle, that is why I frequent DLSUs thread here, cause I know to some extent how to be a La Sallian accounting student. I transferred to UP after a year in La Salle, I was a consistent first honors deans lister by the way, that is why I was able to transfer to UPs pretigious School of Economics. ( Go Id number 789** - yan ang mga id number ng transferees ng UP, such a discrimination di ba, kasi kahit mag-graduate studies ka, yan na ang id number mo, tinatakan ka na talaga as a transferee, pero I dont mind, Im proud to be one). Only two transferees were accepted, the other one is an Atenean. During my time, BAA doesnt accept transferees.

Because of my perseverance, I was able to shift to and graduate with a BAA degree. Many of my friends dont believe that I failed UPCAT, because even oblation scholars get kicked out of the program. My girlfriend also laughs about the idea that I performed poorly in those standardized test. My girlfriend is an oblation and merit scholar herself. She is in fact amazed about what Ive been through. She is also amazed about me, mas magaling pa ko sa kanya e, except sa english, haha, kule staffer siya before, and siya ay valedictorian sa isang sikat na HS dito sa Pinas, Metro Manila, QC, Diliman, hahaha, pinapahulaan e. Hehehe. Xenxa, proud ako sa gf ko. Haha.

Clue: may lahing chinese. Hahaha.

Ano, sino paniniwalaan nyo? si warwick o ako? kayo bahala. Hehehe. Pwede rin palang wag kayong maniwala sameng pareho, wala rin namang mawawala sakin. Hehe. Kayo bahala.

i guess ang tanong niya ay kung madaling magtransfer to UP Diliman College of Education from UPLB.

    Journalism - ^Likewise?

Anthropology - comprehensive Knowledge about culture?

Lib Sci - What's so scientific about Libraries???????

Fine Arts - Do I need to be a really kick-*** artist to pass? Or pede na kahit mejo amateurish ang gawa?

History - extensive knowledge about history?

Need ur help immediately.....lapit na applications...

Anyway, pede bang maramihan ang application sa any college within Diliman? Or may limit?
here are the undergraduate programs that have talent tests:

    - Fine Arts
    - Music
    - Theatre

you dont have to be an expert on anything (i dunno about fine arts though). every course naman has preparatory courses that you take on your first year so you dont have to know a whole lot na agad. although it pays to atleast know a bit about what is talked about.

i dont know anything about library science pero the tone of your question was off. it was like minamaliit mo yung course. i think it wasnt your intention pero sana you'll be careful next time *peace

sa fine arts naman, i cannot say that you have to be kicka** pero kasi the only fine arts major i know is really really good..as in kaya niya gumawa ng portrait na super kamukha nung tao.

Queries about Certificate Courses in UPD (Theater Arts)

Guys, I have a query: I'm planning (not yet decided) to take a 2-year Certificate Course (Theater Arts-Performance) Could I be able to pursue a Bachelor in Theater Arts Course after taking the certificate course? Is there a grade requirement? Do I still need to take this bachelor's course for 4 years even though I have taken up the majority of GE subjects during my 2 years stay in my certificate course?

Thanks for those who will respond! Godbless!

    i agree with her.

I think that you should just apply to whichever course you like, not minding whether those are quota courses or not. I just don't like the fact that transferees use these courses as stepping stones to get in the university. If you won't pass your choice of course, then may be that's a sign...

  6. #286
ok lang sana kung non-quota course pero you like the program naman..or if you'll take a non-quota course related to the quota course you wanna shift into..

i was just really turned-off by the tone of the post..hindi po kami nang-aaway..we're just pointing out a mistake and i'm hoping that you'll work on it so that it won't happen again..

Ay oo nga pala.... di ko napansin, napagod kasi ako after my gym workout.

Hmmm... from the person who asked the question, what is your course in UPLB? You can take education as elective courses there in LB and that can qualify you to take board exams.

    help

Hi! I’m a former HRM student in a university in metro manila. I only took up my freshman year there and now I’m currently enrolled in a culinary school. I’m planning to enroll again in a university/college since the competition in the job market is extremely high. I want to take up nutrition in UP manila or diliman.

I haven’t taken the UPCAT back in high school, is it still possible for me to take the exam? Gusto q ksi mag-apply as a first year college student, not as a transferee... is that even possible?

Pls help me. Sobrang desperate na talaga ako. Since I'm currently staying in Bicol, I only tried emailing UPM about my case and "we're not accepting transferees in the College of Public Health" was their only reply. I tried calling their landline but it's always busy (ang laki n ng phone bill q kakalong distance call). haay.

I know that the UPCAT exams are already finished and I'd be willing to wait again for the next school year just to take that test if that's even possible.

Tama ka. UP considers the quality and caliber of the school/college that the applicant attended when the GPA/QPI has reached the minimum cut-off grade of 85%, or 2.00 in UP's grading system. Of course, UP knows that a 90% earned at AdMU is more respectable than a 90% earned at a school like UST, more so FEU. I'm not sure, however, how much help your school's prestige would help you get into UP as a transfer but it sure does help significantly. I'm seeing an additional of 5% for AdMU over UST. Add more percent as the caliber and quality of the college deteriorates.

Hay naku, stop bashing other schools because you are not from up, wala kang karapatan.

  19. #299
Ei, I have quite a few questions I came up with upon obtaining an application form just last week::

    1. Accdg. to the app. form, it says here that it should be 'one month prior to registration', meaning what time in April? Should I apply for transferring by the last week of April? Because I HAVE a huge problem with the people running the admissions counter: They said my TCG will be released by April 22? So then, I have yet to submit my grades for evaluation, which would then complicate this other problem....

    2. What do they mean when they said, under the provisions for evaluation, that 'he/she falls within the quota of the program at the time of application'...? What exactly does this mean? That if those who passed the UPCAT have filled their slots in their chosen program?

    3. Transfer applicants from other schools should not enroll during the summer term??

    4. And if ever I satisfy those minimum requirements (stated in the form), I still will be referred to the respective colleges for final action? What exactly is that final action?? And what precisely happens during a 'referral'?

    5. Is a recommendation letter from professors always required in every program applied for?

    6. I come for a school whose reputation is kind of what you may call 'cheap' and 'low-qual', and I don't deny this. Will the people in UP overlook this kind of thing and not be subjective? I've heard other transferees get wiped aside in favor of 'better-school' students. I hope this isn't true.

    7. What happens when I pass all the 3 programs applied for?

Anyway, thanks for letting this thru. Sorry about the LibSci thing, namis-interpret niyo ata...^_^

    May tanong lang ako:
    1. may deadline ba yun? Kelan?
    2. Anu mga requirements or san ko pwedeng makita?

Ask ko lang po. Thanks sa magreply.
