Heartbreaks. That's been the story of our season (so far). The Blazers showed heart and a lot of fight in this game but they gotta do a much better job in closing out a game next round. Animo Benilde!

Ah, that familiar moment when everything was suppose to go your way but it's your heart that bleeds in the end.

You can't deny the Altas defense worked in the end even as Mark Romero tried to play Hero 3-Ball before that very last possession. Sinco actually showed improvement in this game so cut him some slack and give props to the Perps.

And if the Blazers won this game, an asterisk might be included as the refs didn't call that loose ball that touched Taha's foot in a crucial possession which by the way, gave Taha enough space to score and give us what could have been the edge. Someone even mentioned that the lack of foul calls on the Altas by the refs would make you wonder but the buck stops with the Blazers. They let the players dictate the outcome, as it should be.

Heroes were everywhere for the Blazers but you have to credit Elopre for escaping a foul-troubled Romero to give the Altas that one point. They deserve this win as much as the Blazers wanted it to end by avoiding an overtime. Both teams played their guts out.

The important thing is we still have the second round to think about. They only need to channel this 6th heart-breaker into future victories. Come what may, we're witnessing a better team in their host season. Bitter is the pill to swallow but sweeter is that experience to fight to the last second.

Growing pains, that's what the Blazers are experiencing right now.

Elopre on his game winner: "Hindi ako tumira nun, si God yun." #NCAA

Elopre had all the time in the world to make that layup. There's no help defense from CSB in that sequence.

Looks like they need new mana after Sir Sonny's helpful 3-game win streak blessing from above expired. Mahirap kontrahin ang Aric Magic!

yan din ang naisip ko AB.. nun dikit ang score noong 4th at OT, parang nasa isip ng mga players natin na tutulungan tayo ni sir sonny.. i think our players have to realize that sir sonny is just an inspiration for them to win ballgames.. he can't help our players win by some basket interference like in the movies.. they still have to work hard and earn those victories because it will never be handed to them by our opponents..

I think Sir Sonny gave them help naman but it's all up to them. They were willing themselves to win and you can see their determination up to the end. We had our chance when Romero had an open look beyond the arc because they can't take it to the hoop with the Perps clogging the middle.

And you can see how the players from the Altas reacted after escaping with that key defensive stop. They also got their work cut out for them.

How many more years for Taha, Romero and Grey?

If they stick around next year, I think we'll have a chance to make the final 4. The way they're playing right now, they still have a chance of making it, but the 6 first rd. losses might/will haunt them in the next phase. They look like they're still learning to win, so baka next year pa tayo maka-swerte.

Wow, did I just say we're a final 4 contender???

Romero is on his last year.. Grey and Taha (i believe) is good until next year.

Yun EAC-Letran schedule natin is crucial.. we play letran less than 48 hours after our game against EAC. thus we need to come up with a very good win against EAC to be able to springboard the momentum on our game against Letran.

Second round for them is an opportunity to redeem themselves and play harder. They already know that they can win close games or dominate an opponent. All they have to do is make crucial adjustments.

Injured si Fons Saavedra! Sprained ankle!

Hirap na hirap ang Blazers ngayon. Low-scoring ballgame! Pero sinusubukan talaga nila makipag-sabayan kahit gumagawa si Paniamogan!
