You know, Baguio was established mainly by the Americans as a radio / signalling station.

Which is why most of the landmarks bear American names: Wright Park, Burnham Park, Camp John Hay, Leonard Wood.

Pero, totoo. Daming nakakatakot sa Baguio. It probably ranks second to Capiz or Siquijor for ghost stories.

Ask any taxi driver about the white lady of Laoag -- the girl who was supposedly raped and left to die on the road leading to PMA. Any of them will have a second or even first hand account. Which is why a lot of taxi drivers refuse to take one-way passengers to the PMA area. Kasi wala daw kasama pauwi. Creepy.

It's ok, dear. Besides... the phrase "panahon pa ng Kastila" is taken
as a figure of speech to mean something that's aging or old --
never mind if it doesn't actually date all the way back to the early 1900's.

very helpful nga tong thread na to. last year pa akong nasa Baguio at staff ako sa isang summer camp, so di rin ako nakaikot for the night life. at least ngayon may mga idea na kami.

guamayuki: The last time I was in Baguio (March this year), nag-rent ng house yung mga kasama ko - 3BR 2TB furnished, with ref and TV, sa may Navy Base. I think they paid P2,000 for a day. Not bad kasi maganda yung house.

well, there's going to be at least 8 of us. so better nga siguro kung house. 2000 per day is the going rate now?

meron bang mga website na pwedeng puntahan to view these houses? o pagdating na lang namin dun at dun na lang kami maghanap? preferably with kitchen na rin syempre at fully furnished di ba? siguro ok na rin ang 2 to 3 bedrooms basta hindi lang isa ang bath. mahaba-habang pila yan kung isa lang bathroom. at syempre dapat may hot water.

daming tanong no. plus, what's the going rate for rental cars there now? currently in guam (as my name implies) so i don't know how much things are now in the philippines.

the closer it is to the sites syempre mas maganda. but i would also like one with a view. bahala na, whatever is within budget, hehe

    thanks guys.
