Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced today that the team has re-signed guard Jannero Pargo. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. “We’re pleased that Jannero will be back with us again this season,” Cho said. “He is a great veteran presence in our locker room who is always ready when called upon.” NBA.com

Paul George: Lance Left to be a Star in Charlotte

George believes Stephenson, who was miffed about not being named an All-Star last season, was attracted to a star role in Charlotte.

“He did that because he wants to come into his own,” George said. “That’s not to say he couldn’t do that in Indiana. But I think the fresh start gives him the ability to lead a team and take what he got from us to Charlotte. He is a player that wants to be an All-Star, wants to be a superstar in this league. So I think he made that move based on that.”

They should massacre the heat next season and blow their ears off now that the idol is no longer there. At least there was some consolation that the spurs gave the heat a unique 3 peat and made the idol cry back to his former team.

Hornets is another future team that can give surprises. Huwag lang ma-injure si AJ as he is still the main man.

Walker/Stephenson backcourt + Big Al/Vonleh frontcourt with three rotation SF in MKG, Williams, Taylor, plus a Bench of Henderson, Biyombo, Zeller, Pargo and Neal; Not bad. definitely a better team and with the demise of Pacers and Heat, they are a top 5 team this year on that conference. Dark horse.

Noah is an all around PF that can shoot from the outside, may also play the 3 at times, think David West mixed with Danny Granger ang potential, but then again he's young and we don't know kung magta-translate sa NBA yung potential na yun. I see Biyombo as a poor man's Ben Wallace, hopefully he can develop his offensive game.

Michael Jordan can still get buckets. So long as they are standstill jumpers and he is left wide open… but still, this is Michael Jordan getting buckets. Pretty much if there is video someday of Jordan making shots at age 70, we’re going to run it. Just be warned. NBCSports.com

Just yesterday we checked in with Michael Jordan at his eponymous basketball camp, where we saw that he still has a sweet shooting stroke. Well, today video has emerged of MJ at that same camp, teaming up with a camper and playing a two-on-two game of hot shot against another camper and his partner, gulp, NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. It really gets going around the four-minute mark… NBA.com

The assault and battery case involving Charlotte Hornets rookie guard P.J. Hairston has been rescheduled for September. Hairston was due to appear in Durham County court Friday on a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery following an altercation with a high school basketball player during a pickup game last month. Police had issued a summons for Hairston but did not arrest him. WFMY

Charlotte Hornets rookie P.J. Hairston’s court case, regarding an allegation he twice punched a Durham teenager, has been continued until at least September 12. Hairston was scheduled for an initial appearance Friday in Durham County Court. One of his Durham-based attorneys, William Thomas II, requested the continuance. Neither Hairston nor his accuser, Kentrell Barkley, was in the courtroom.

Thomas later said Hairston’s case might not be heard until Oct. 3. That could potentially conflict with Hornets training camp in early October in Asheville. Hairston got into an altercation with Barkley on July 6 during a pickup game at a Durham YMCA. Barkley, a 6-foot-5 senior at Northern Durham High School, said Hairston twice punched him without provocation.

"These matters are routinely continued. This is called an initial appearance,’ Thomas said as he left court. "The initial inquiry was whether Mr. Hairston has counsel."
