    GMA Network: SUNDAY ALL STARS

SEEN : Sunday All Stars ang title ng bagong Sunday noontime show ng GMA 7 na ipapalit sa Party Pilipinas. Sa June 2 ang pilot telecast ng Sunday All Stars.

Sana hindi "Sunday All Star". Not only because hindi ko feel "SAS" but also it's very close to the real meaning of ASAP - All Star Afternoon Party and similar to Game 'N Go All Stars. Sana irevive na lang ang "GMA Supershow" with Kuya Germs plus the SOP/PP type production but make it modernize and make it an all out afternoon celebration. Why not something into that effect? Something nostalgic but an updated version:

"GMA Sunday Super Show!" GMA S3 or GMA (S to the 3rd power for short).

    Or

    GMA Sunday All Star SuperShow.
(GMA SASS) to differentiate it away from the acronym for ASAP.

Make it brighter filled with all your Telebabad stars, improve the hosting, segment transitions, have a bigger stage, longer runway, larger LED screen, have a lounge area where fans and host can hangout and chat online just like before sa SOP and get everyone excited like a PEP rally (just like how ASAP introduces their "ASAP Kapamilya"). If PP stayed longer, it would have been nice for them to introduce each show saying a catchphrase like"Pilipinas, Let's Party!" And always sing their catchy theme song and dance (in which I think would have work for each episode after each opening). I just hope the new Sunday show will have better at everything! Suggesting, getting regular singers like Nina, Vernie Varga, Chad Borja, Raymond Lauchengco (GMA Supershow, wink wink ) or have somebody who will make up to senior stars (if Ogie does decides to leave, hoping not though). But hopefully, those who were loyal to PP will be at least part of the new show somehow. Also, just create one big extravagant stage that audience will get used to. Although the 2 different stage worked at one point, maybe just having one permanent stage will work better Good luck!

Why not? Haha, well to me, it would have been better to keep the same title back when it was SOP or PP and just revamped the show. Kasi nawawala na yung chance for a show to go long and have a legacy like Eat Bulaga, Startalk or Bubble Gang.

I do believe this is just a phase and I hope GMA will get through this. They are basically in the same situation some few years ago when ABS introduced some 21 new shows, dropping shows left and right, here and there, and everywhere (2006 was it?!) so don't feel so bad mga Kapuso. This was because they couldn't beat GMA shows like Eat Bulaga, SiS or Startalk. They have gone through so many shows and finally, they found the right formula through Showtime, BCWMH and SIR.

So let's be optimistic and hope for the same that the next Sunday shows for GMA both the former SOP-PP slot and HOT TV slot will finally have a working formula that will last long and stand strong.

Ang magiging problema sa papalit sa Party Pilipinas is that it will need a strong branding that could connect with viewers, something which the network has to work on from scratch.

It's says a lot about Party Pilipinas, a show that has run for three years (with more or less 150 episodes aired), having gone through creative overhauls along the way to give viewers a reason to tune in. If PP was on par with competitor ASAP in the ratings, how come GMA cancelled the show anyway (or at the very least decided to revamp it into yet another SOP reincarnation with a different title)?

For a show getting what could be acceptable viewership figures for the network, I don't think production costs and advertisers are ever an issue. Hopefully, whatever name they've chosen for the replacement show, it sticks for the long term.

Para sa akin, that is really a stupid move on the part of GMA.Mahirap maitaguyod ang branding ng isang show.

  10. #10
oo GMA SUPERSHOW nalang ang gawing title... parang ibabalik, pero with a new concept syempre, title lang gagamitin, para may legacy na, older than ASAP. but please, minus, kuya germs.

  11. #11
may pa basketball na pala sa gma?

  12. #12
    ibalik nlng ang sop...mas maganda...

  13. #13
Ang problem kasi is the identity and branding of the show. Iisipin lang ng viewers na the new show will just be another S.O.P. or Party Pilipinas or even GMA Supershow.

down to mars please lang wag na kayo sumama

and also yung lighting nila masyado madilim for an afternoon show na gusto makita ng tao e light lang at talent ng favorite stars nila

Mas familiar at catchy. Or if they want to stick to acronyms, sana payagan ng VIVA for them to use "TGIS: Thank God It's Sunday!" para mas catchy. Or something into that effect.

para sakin it is the best time na ibalik ang GMA SUPERSHOW, sympre yung concept eh bago na, but using the same title lang. Yung SOP kasi, too early para ibalik ulit.

Yeah, I agree! Let's petition to bring back GMA Supershow instead. Kung tuusin, back then GMA Supershow featured the most popular stars of today. This is what the new show should be!

kung ang sitcoms, movies at series ay nagkakaroon ng remake, i think this could be a good opportunity to have a remake of a classic variety show, a first in Philippine TV history. may legacy na ang GMA Supershow, running for 20 years, even before ASAP, GMA Supershow was there.
