Zanjoe copied Bea's pouty lips in 'Bromance'
My Brother’s Romance, first solo film niya under Skylight Films.
“Ah, kay Bea (Alonzo, her girlfriend),” say niya.
The movie is showing on May 16.

“It’s very rare to see a silent worker like Koko,” say ni Mother. “The celebrity status you get as a politician can get to your head. Parang sa showbiz. Pero iba si Senator Koko. He does his job and he doesn’t brag about it.
But siyempre, I urge the other Team PNoy candidates to also approach her. Siyempre, dahil sister naman siya ng Pangulo, ’di i-approach din nila,” he said.
Si Sen. Koko ay tumatakbo for his second term in the Senate.

'Vice Ganda is a decent gay'
ASKED how his girlfriend Bea Alonzo reacted to his decision to play a gay role in his first lead movie, Bromance, Zanjoe Marudo said she was happy for him.
“’Di man niya in-articulate, alam kong she is proud of everything that’s happening to me and my career.”
Zanjoe denied having consulted Bea first before accepting the role. Where their careers are concerned, wala raw silang pakialaman.
As he explained: “More than anybody, after all, ikaw na may katawan ang makakaalam what’s good for you, personally and professionally.
“In Bea’s case, nauna siyang nag-artista sa akin. Kaya, between the two of us, lamang siya ng kaalaman tungkol sa showbiz. I take to her as one of the best actresses we have around,” pahayag pa ni Zanjoe.

ON the question who sort of served as his inspiration for the gay role of Brandy, Zanjoe’s quick reply was: “Vice Ganda.”
“But what I admire about Brandy’s character is that makapamilya siya. Dahil between him and his kakambal, Brando, mas malaki ang kanyang kinikita, he takes it upon himself to help support the family.
What he would consider the highlight of Bromance, according to Zanjoe, was when kinailangan niyang magpanggap na si Brandy, whom, as Brandon, he hated at ikinahiya dahil nga sa pagiging bakla nito.
“The film is a riot,” ani Zanjoe. “Basta both Direk Wenn (Deramas, who directs the movie) and I made sure that audiences will not just enjoy watching it, but will be in stitches, too.”
* * *
A TRUE gay featured in Bromance is Lassy Marquez, who always makes himself available everytime Zanjoe needs help in performing his role as a beki (the new gay lingo for bakla).
The eldest in a family of four, he was in grade six when he admitted he was gay. Aniya, he feels grateful to his mom, who not only understood but also tinanggap ang kanyang kasarian.
Before joining showbiz, Lassy performed in gay bars.
For a time rin, naging jester siya ng Wowowee, Willie Revillame’s former show on ABS-CBN.
“Kasi nga raw, I perform like a dog on stage.”
Where his movie and TV career is concerned, Lassy is grateful to Direk Wenn, who makes it a point to include him in most of his projects.

ABS-CBN Rules Nationwide TV Ratings in April; Remain Strong in Morning and Afternoon Block
Posted on May 6, 2013
ABS-CBN, the country’s largest and leading multimedia conglomerate, continued to dominate TV viewing across urban and rural homes nationwide in April with its strong line-up of shows with an average total day audience share of 42% or 12 points higher than GMA’s 30%, based on data from Kantar Media.
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
ABS-CBN also ruled the hotly contested primetime block (6PM-12MN), with an average national audience share of 46% vs. GMA’s 29%. Primetime is considered the most important part of the day when most Filipinos watch TV and advertisers put a larger chunk of their investment in to reach more consumers efficiently.
Aside from primetime, ABS-CBN’s early afternoon block (12NN-3PM) also strengthened with an average audience share of 41%, a three-point increase from last March’s 38%, while GMA lost a point to 32% from 33%. This was mainly driven by the performance on weekdays by “It’s Showtime,” which gained a national TV rating of 13.7%, beating “Eat Bulaga” (12.4%).
ABS-CBN also remained strong in the morning (6AM-12NN) with an audience share of 37% vs. GMA’s 32%, and in the late afternoon (3PM-6PM) with 36% vs. GMA’s 29%.
Twelve out of the top 15 regular airing programs for April were produced by ABS-CBN. (click here to see the list of the Top 15 Programs nationwide for April).
