We are living in a fast paced world today where the flow of information is just so fast. With this, expect everything to have a very short life cycle. Its like there's always something new everyday and its just natural for people to go for what is the latest. Maybe thats why artists and composers no longer put that much effort in creating quality songs. They are bombarded with so much info of songs from past and present that it discourages them to make their own thinking the music they will make would just be a rip off or cheap imitation of someone else's... so to be safe, they do revivals instead.

I predict that 20 to 30 years from now, most songs will be about sexual perversion, idiocy, homosexuality and anti-religion.

As far as pop music are concerned, have you been living under a rock AG?

  9. #29

Nope. Dyan na nagkamali. Metallica, Aerosmith, sige lagyan na natin ng hardcore Megadeth, Slayer, Death Pistol, Nirvana if your a rocker like me you will appreciate them unlike today's rock songs, rap na walang direksyon ang mga kanta. Hindi ko era at generation ang Kiss, Eagles, Queen, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones to name few pero i do appreciate their songs.

No, I mostly listen to metal in the 80's but I can go and listen to music as far back as the 30's-40's (I guess) with songs from artist like Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, etc.

For example yung "Don't You (Forget About Me)" ng Simple Minds na pinakanta sa isang movie ni Emma Stone or "Feels like the First Time" ng Foreigner sa Pitch Perfect at movie ni Tatum na stripper sya. Or sa isang hit TV show like Supernatural yung kanta ng Kansas na "Carry on my Wayward Son"

A Big NO. Yeah there are trashy songs but it exist naman in all generations, ang pinagkaiba lang our technology now is upgraded than in the 60's 70's 80's, at mas mabilis maging popular (social media, youtube, etc)

Unlike in the past decades eh you need to tune in pa sa radio or MTV para mapakinggan mga new songs and it takes weeks pa malaman kung gaano ka popular yung song (billboard top100)

Eh ngayon pwede as fast as the song is released, pwede mo na i-download agad agad. Kaya mabilis magsawa mga tao ngayon listening to new songs.

Marketing din yan ng mga record labels, more songs more artists means more money to them.

Well, preference din naman yan. Most heavy metal lovers that I know really dislike rap or rnb, vice versa.

Kasi if you think like that, medyo tama yung sinabi ni razer_rising na "My generation is better than the present one" syndrome." yung nararamdam mo, lol hihi

  17. #37

Nalalaos ang kanta? I don't think so AHAH.

Di naman siguro nalalaos.... there is a great supply of songs talaga... consider the population 50 years ago compared to now.

MORE PEOPLE = MORE POTENTIAL SINGERS.

And what do we mean by laos? Walang nagpapatugtog sa Cubao or sa Divisoria or sa Palengke? HAHA. If you want to hear the latest craze, you can hear it in places I mentioned.

It's simply bec. they're not good enough!

  20. #40
    I agree.

Me and my friends have also discussed this. Are there any songs from the past 10 years until now that can be considered as classic? Classic in the sense that people in the future generation would rediscover the music then play it over and over again.

There are some good songs, but I don't think most of them can endure the test of time. 50 years from now, people will ignore these songs and consider them trash.
