    Ayala Mall replacing UPIS

Note sure though). I think, in general, papatok ito sa Katipunan community.

As to the traffic, expect na makakacontribute ito nang kaunti. I'm not sure kung malaki ang parking space ng mall na ito.

Kung magkakafastfood dito, at least may choice nako na mas malapit kaysa Petron.

    Masyadong malaki ang 2 Vinzon's

2 or 3 floors lang yata to, kaso parang masyadong mataas yung ceiling ng topmost floor. Basta hindi siya kalakihan.

Walang protesta kasi gusto rin ng maraming taga UP ng malapit na mall at sosyal na tambayan Iba na ang UP ngayon compared sa UP noong 80s or 90s.

  5. #5
Ginagaya nila yung University Towns sa US.

    Sad but true

Or endangered species na sila?

lahat na yata ng lupang pagmamay ari ng gobyerno dahan dahan ng binebenta, maski UP,tsk tsk, although maganda to may down side pa rin.

  9. #9
Lease for 25 years, renewable for another 25 years siya if I'm not mistaken, pero sure ako hindi siya absolute sale ng lupa.

  10. #10

  12. #12
Thank you for clarifying, thats good. Although it came from both of you, sana may magpakita ng UP charter re:land use.sale, resale, lease and this development contract kasi this is still national property. And im pleased to know its Ayala, knowing SMDC,nevermind ...

The deal with Ayala also includes the construction of a new 4 story UPIS building at no cost to UP. The old UP Elementary School beside the Col of Educ. has also been torn down to make way for a new building courtesy of Ayala.

    UP land cannot be sold.

I've mentioned this earlier in a different thread, I think it was in the UP Diliman Convocation thread.

Chancellor Saloma said it himself, because the settlers in the Diliman campus want to buy the lots they are currently living in, and Saloma said they can't, because it's against the law.

I don't remember if this is mentioned in the UP Charter of 2008, but you can google Republic Act 9500 and see for yourself.

As with the Ayala's, the construction of the so called East Campus came with the deal of constructing new buildings for UPIS, for free.

The transfer of the UPIS buildings beside the College of Education will enable the founding of an Educ. complex.

What is there to protest about this Ayala Mall?

You do really have an issue with rich students, don't you? Your rants are similar to those of noisy and dumb LEFTISTS students (who are forever ENVIOUS of the elite).

Mea culpa. Although my post had a tinge of truth albeit misconstrued, it was more of provoking that 'lady' who has nursed a grudge against some UP Pexers. It's not my analysis of the situation, for crying out loud!

@cretinous, my post was an answer to the TS' question kung bakit parang walang protesta or whatsoever. Binasa mo ba yung tanong nya? But then again, you could have taken my post with a grain of salt.

    So elite ka na nyan?

Why would I have an issue with a group that I am part of? Sa mga pasosyal meron pa siguro. Pero not to the point na maiinggit ako sa kanila? And you tell that to someone who's never joined a rally? Dig deeper, kid.
