syempre mixers yan. nice match-up, a dominant import versus last year's best import.
I guess most of us here wants SMC to win these series. It is because if we look forward, they can possibly face the Aces in the Semis. Drama. Subplots.
Mixers in 2 games.
All the luck Mixers!
bakit meron in '3 games'? eh best of three lang? haha baka naman ibig sabihin nun in game 3? eh same lang yun nun ibang options na in 2 games? hahaha
anyway, i want smc to win here.. para kung manalo ang alaska vs air 21 , maganda laban sa semis.. And smc is still undefeated against alaska ever since nag transfer si coach tim sa smc. If ever magandang bawi to para sa alaska kung tatalunin nila smc.
SMC in 3 games.
Put Ping on Macmac agad para di makuha yung rhythm/angas niya.
Kung makaka-chamba SMCM in 2. Sana...
as long as the team play with intense defense kaya natin ang bolts...
goodluck mixer and pls Less Alex Mallari more of Lester alvarez...
Key in this series is how the Bowles-Dawson rivalry will pan out. Dawson has extremely been prolific the past couple of games but I wonder how his injury in the ROS game will have an impact on how he plays.
Also significant in this series would be the Ross-Barroca faceoff in the backcourt. Ross is arguably the best defender among the point guards in the PBA today while Barroca has shown that he can be a barometer for San Mig - if his offense gets going, SMC wins; if not, SMC struggles.
I expect Meralco to be physical, taking a page out of the Yeng Guiao playbook of psyching out the San Mig players with tough defense. Pingris will have his hands full though with guys like Hodge, Hugnatan and Reyes inside. Cone might have to look at taller combinations in this series to dominate inside.
One thing though - the weakest link in Cone's coaching is defending the perimeter and outside shot. Cone plays by the numbers and would prefer to pack the inside with defenders and risk the outside shot. With guys like Salvacion, Buenafe and Cardona sniping away, that may be the Bolts' chance.
For San Mig, key guy, apart from Barroca, would be PJ Simon. Simon has been playing very well lately, taking over the franchise lead offensive option from James Yap as the latter has struggled in the recent games. I don't see the teeth issue will come to fore here as Simon has proven to be of championship-mettle.
Dr George Canlas checked on Meralco import Eric Dawson's knee after MRI-minor strain, no damage, ready to play San Mig Coffee tomorrow
