Post Should Sean Chambers be replaced?

Was actually surprised that Alaska brought him back. Was under the impression that last year was his last tour of duty. When he played in the 2nd conference, akala ko temporary lang dahil injured si Badgett.

With Alaska down 0-3, dont you think it's time to sign a new import? Given all the praises heaved on him by Cone and the Alaska management, they will never see the Chambers of old. They will, instead, realize that Chambers is OLD.

Sean is 36. He has brought 7 championships to Alaska. When Tim and the management felt that Badgett can't be the go-to-guy that they really need last conference, they thought of fielding sean in bec. they were hoping that sean's leadership and experience would "bind" the aces together---they thought that sean could bring chemistry to the young alaska team. Alaska lost to smb in the semis last conference but so what? They placed third--and somehow they earned the big "C" -chemistry that they really needed.

Sean is back this conference. I frowned--i love the guy but i know that he's over the hill and that they could have better chances of winning if they had opted to look for a young and more versatile import--but...

Alaska is rebuilding. The Alaska of old did not win championships in a jiffy---they worked their butts out and Sean was there...at the helm...he acted like Tim Cone's assistant bench tactician on the court...even Jeffrey Cariaso could attest to how Sean has become instrumental in helping him and the other young turks of the then would-be Team of the 90s work collectively to string up one win after another...

Now, the guy's at it again...sans the 20-something point production every game, sans the 10+ rebounds a game, sans the usual hustle...but ever with the biggest heart...the usual 100%...so obviously, Sean's not here to go out and shoot the lights out and prove to everybody that he's still a spring chicken---he's playing a different role...despite the scrutiny...he's here to be the leader that the young aces need...

Maybe they'll fail to make it past the elims, maybe they could...but whatever happens...Sean's gonna stay.

well...Alaska inded needs a leader in Sean...but he could not keep astride with the other explosive imports of other teams...he may provide leadership...but he will be a liability in defense against those new imports who are bigger, faster, and better...and on offense he will surely struggle against his younger adversaries who possess fresher legs...Alaska needs an import who will blend with te team ala Chambers...but that import should also lead his team in scoring and play tough defense...

    NOPE

he should continue...despite his limitations, he still is best fit for the team...ALASKAs problem is that after DUREMDES and PEEK, no one is scoring...very big disappointment on SANTOS and ARIGO...their bench is full of role players but no big time scorer after the 2 Pinoys...guess this is one area where CONE should look for a trade...why not sign RAVENA....

Just recently.. Sean Chambers has just hung up his jersey and will retire from basketball.. Looks like Alaska will have no choice but to get a new import..

It was a nice gesture coming from Sean Chambers, realizing that he no longer is capable of helping his team out the way he used too opted to retire..

Sean Chambers has had a brilliant career as a PBA import rivaled only by Bobby parks.. He has won numerous Most Valuable Import awards and the rare Mr. 100% award.

agree that he plays a different role now. but do you honestly think he's effective at it? this is a young alaska team...but they don't necessarily need an old man to lead them, do they? while i admire sean's big heart, it's time to look for a new import. someone who can help the team get a W.

they need a leader, you say. how about kenneth duremdes? without johnny a, jolas, and bong hawkins...it's high time captain marbel takes on the leader's role.

that was a good gesture on the part of Sean...they do need his leadership...but not as an import...since he can't play astride those young turks...who have superior games and conditioning...Sean would make a good assistant coach for Alaska...or beter yet a trainer for the team...since he knows the Alaska system more than any player in the Alaska team...
