KC Concepcion on challenging role in Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala: “It's a milestone and it's a turning point.”
    by Glenn Regondola
    posted on August 17, 2013

KC Concepcion looks back at her "meaty" role in Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala with great pride: “It's a great start for me to do roles na hindi ko maisip na gagawin but once pumasok na ako sa set at mag-start na magtrabaho, now, maraming doors na ang nag-open sa akin na, 'Oh my gosh, kaya ko pala!' Na parang kumportable pala ako doing that. Baka all these five years na nasa mainstream ako, training na rin na... to reach a point na sana magtuluy-tuloy at ang roles in the future ay sana mas fierce, mas challenging. Hopefully po, it made a name.”

And it's really such a blessing yung numbers po and of course yung reactions din ng mga tao.”

INITIAL HESITATIONS.

Sabi ng dalaga ni Sharon Cuneta, “Yeah, when Ate Juday [Judy Ann Santos] talked to me, ayaw ko talagang gawin. I really told her, 'No, Ate, ayoko talaga.'

“Now, I delivered it more than I delivered myself. Kasi po, I never expected that I would be able to take the role na ganitong genre. Yun nga, naitatawid ko yung pagiging bida-kontrabida.

“But it's worth it... it's really worth it na I really trusted Ate Juday for this and I think there was a reason kung bakit nila naisip na ibigay sa akin ito.

“They are experts with what I do—ano ba naman ang alam ko? Ano ba naman ang alam ko na kung i-pursue ang career ko, you'll see the reason why.

“In the end, happy ako.

“Tapos ang daming tanong talaga kung paano ko ito gagawin and it was such a journey for me portraying Alexis. It's a milestone and it's a turning point.

“It's a great start for me to do roles na hindi ko maisip na gagawin but once pumasok na ako sa set at mag-start na magtrabaho, now, maraming doors na ang nag-open sa akin na, 'Oh my gosh, kaya ko pala!'

“Na parang kumportable pala ako doing that. Baka all these five years na nasa mainstream ako, training na rin na... to reach a point na sana magtuluy-tuloy at ang roles in the future ay sana mas fierce, mas challenging.

“Hopefully po, it made a name.”

    Cool

MGA REBELASYON SA TOP-RATING SERIES NA #HuwagkaLangMawawala

IPINAKITA na sa episode ng Huwag
    Ka Lang Mawawala noong Miyerkules
ang lihim na katauhang bading ni
Tirso Cruz III bilang si Romulus, ang
mahigpit at istriktong amain ni Eros
    (Sam Milby).

Sa advance screening ng Huwag Ka
    Lang Mawawala sa Resorts World
    Theater noong Mayo ay itinanong
    kaagad namin sa staff ng
    Dreamscape Productions kung tunay
na anak ni Romulus si Eros, dahil
nga sobra ang higpit niya, hindi
normal ang relasyon ng mag-ama, at
    napangiti lang ang pinagtanungan
    namin.

    nagpakasal sila at nangakong aariing
tunay na anak si Eros pero ililihim
    ang kanyang tunay na katauhan.

    Sa episode noong Miyerkules, nang
itulak ni Eros si Romulos ay halos
mamaluktot sa takot ang huli dahil
baka hindi lang balya ang matikman
niya sa pinalaking anak na base rin
sa istorya ay parang may lihim na
gusto sa anak ni Helena – kaya nga
galit na galit siya kay Anessa (Judy
Ann Santos) at wala na lang siyang
    magawa naman kay Alexis (KC
    Concepcion) dahil anak ito ng
    kumpare at business partner niyang

    badingseryeng My Husband’s Lover
na katapat nila dahil one year in the

    Biyernes.

can somebody confirm? at napa log in pa ko para lang itanong to.haha

^As far as I can recall, there have been no hints that Eros or Iris (for that matter) are not Romulus' biological children...although Iris has always felt an outsider...Romulus did thank Helena for giving him children in that touching scene...BRAVO Mr. Tirso Cruz III!!!...This series just keeps getting better and better and better

What a twist: Tirso Cruz is gay in 'Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala'

    Cross-dressing Romulus stirs buzz online

MANILA -- A cross-dressing Tirso Cruz III emerged in a scene of "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" aired Friday, stirring buzz among unsuspecting followers of the drama series online.

In tears over his estrangement from both his children, Romulus (Cruz) is left to contend with the familiar feeling of rejection and abandonment.

The character's violent streak against his own son, Eros (Sam Milby), is explained when Romulus recalls his past as a gay teen considered "abnormal" by his abusive father.

The young Romulus would find comfort in his friend Helena (played as an adult by Coney Reyes), who promises acceptance and unconditional love despite knowing of his sexual orientation.

With strained relationships with both Eros and his daughter Iris (Empress Schuck), Romulus turns to Helena anew for solace and encouragement.

This time, the domineering husband sheds his steely exterior for his repressed feminine persona, wearing as abundant jewelry the diamonds he had been so calculating of as a source of business.

Mahal na mahal kita," he says.

The tender scene between Helena and Romulus, who is often seen in a ruthless hunt for Anessa (Judy Ann Santos), became a highlight of discussion among netizens tuned in to "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" on Friday night.

With only a week left before the series airs its finale on August 23, viewers of the program took to Twitter to laud the fast pace of the story, while others expressed amusement and shock at the turn of Cruz's character.

Juday says show paved way for new advocacy
    ABS-CBNnews.com
    Posted at 08/18/2013 6:34 PM | Updated as of 08/18/2013 6:34 PM

MANILA – Actress Judy Ann Santos said her television series “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” became the vehicle for her to realize her newest advocacy.

In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Santos said she would love to continue informing women who are victims of domestic violence on how they could defend themselves.

“Ngayon mas na-realize ko, even after maipalabas ang teleseryeng ito, hindi ako dapat huminto after ‘Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.’ Ito na yata ang isa sa mga bagong advocacies ko, to actually organize maybe a Krav Maga session sa mga organizations ng mga abused women for them to realize na this is what you have to know and what your children need to know kasi mapoprotektahan ka talaga,” she said.

In “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” Santos plays the role of a wife who learns how to fight back against her abusive husband, portrayed by Sam Milby.

Before the series started, Santos attended several classes of Krav Maga, a practical and tactical system developed in Israel that teaches how to prevent, deal with, and overcome different types of attacks.

Santos said she feels honored that her series inspired victims of domestic violence to fight back.

And now that it’s down to its final week, Santos invited the viewers to watch every episode of the series as it will offer shocking twists and breathtaking scenes.

“Last Friday, we shot some of the finale scenes already. Kami mismo noong shinoot namin iyon, magbubuhat ako ng bangko. It’s a beautiful, beautiful scene. 'Yung finale, kakapit kayo, mangangamba kayo and at the same time maiiyak kayo sa characters ng lahat,” she said.

Asked what’s next for her after “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” Santos said: “Hindi ko pa alam.

Juday, KC proud of ‘HKLM’ advocacy
    By Crispina Martinez-Belen
    Published: August 19, 2013

This is the last week for ABS-CBN’s top rating teleserye “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” and during the recent thanksgiving press conference for the show, the lead stars, Judy Ann Santos and KC Concepcion, expressed pride in their advocacy – women empowerment – which they believe they successfully projected to the audience. When the project was presented to Juday, dubbed the “Original Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera,” she said that to her it was the advocacy that made her readily accept the project.

Asked how Juday and KC felt about the show and its impending end, the former said, “Nag-u-umapaw sa puso naming lahat ang kaligayahan sa napakagandang pagtanggap sa trabaho namin for almost a year.

On her part, KC said, “When it was offered to me, ayaw ko talaga siyang gawin... but she (Juday) encouraged me to do it. I never expected that I’ll be able to take on a role na ganitong genre... na bida-kontrabida, but it was worth it. Ate Juday believed in me more that I believed in myself. She trusted me. I’m very happy. Thank you, Ate.”

For this, Juday is proud of “HKLM.”

Though it may be hard to bid it goodbye, Juday said, “It was my decision to end the show earlier. I appreciate very much that ABS-CBN management listened to what I had to say...” The Network bigwigs wanted to move the show to a latter timeslot but Juday did not like the idea.

After the teleserye, Juday said she’d like to rest, and as to the rumor saying she is moving over to TV5, “Hindi ko pa pinag-isipan ’yan.”

JUDY ANN’S ‘ADVOCA-SERYE’ BIDS FAREWELL THIS FRIDAY
    August 19, 2013 11:49 am admin

Pinoy Soap Opera Queen Judy Ann Santos candidly advises loyal viewers of ABS-CBN’s top-rating primetime advocacy series to avoid coffee this week as the finale episodes of “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” are filled with high-tension scenes. The drama program will air its last episode this Friday (August 23).

Judy Ann shared that there are still a lot of revelations in their show that captured the hearts of viewers because of its unique advocacy that gives voice, hope and power to women like Anessa (Judy Ann) who was once physically and emotionally abused by her husband Eros (Sam Milby).

“It’s flaterring that our audience don’t want our show to end. We’re really happy that they’re hoping for a book 2 or an extension,” said Judy Ann. “But I think it’s best to conclude the show with all of us proud because of our beautiful ending and not prolonged out of force.”

Like the viewers, Anessa’s character and the show’s women empowerment advocacy have been close to the heart of Judy Ann.

“I’m sure that even after our program, I’ll continue with what I’ve started. I have no plans to stop my advocacy,” shared the award-winning actress who hopes to facilitate Krav Maga self-defense training sessions among women.

Don’t miss the heart-stomping scenes in the last week of the fast-paced story of “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” weeknights, after “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. For more updates about the show, log on to www.facebook.com/HKLM.TV and follow @HKLM_TV on Twitter.

KC saddened by ‘HKLM’s nearing end
    By Walden Sadiri M. Belen
    Published: August 19, 2013

Viewers, friends and fans have effusively praised KC Concepcion for her remarkable portrayal of bida-kontrabida on ABS-CBN’s "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” set to end on Aug. 23.

This is one of the reasons KC feels sad over the teleserye's nearing conclusion. She said she will miss everyone in the cast and crew.

She added, “May bitin factor talaga.

KC continued: “It was a big factor na natanggap ako as Alexis. And it made me feel prouder that ‘HKLM’ is an advocacy show - to empower women and let them be aware of their rights.” KC wanted to do a project that has significance and relevance and she is thankful now to have accepted the teleserye.

Like Juday, KC believes “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” is one project to be proud of. “It was really a journey for me to create Alexis, it has turned into a milestone and a turning point in my acting career. Kaya ko pala and I was comfortable doing it. Napakalaking bagay for me na natanggap ako ng tao bilang Alexis na hindi ko alam kung paano ko ginawa. Hopefully this will just be the beginning of more challenges in my career.”

As a musical treat to loyal viewers who make “HKLM” a consistent top rater, Star Records has released its official soundtrack. The track list includes “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” by Gary Valenciano, “You Made Me Live Again” by Zsa Zsa Padilla, “Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita” by Vice Ganda, “Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw” by Jed Madela, and “Give Me A Chance” by Charice.
