Having proficiency in both software and hardware systems is rare.
knowledge of how to configure networks is not that easy
having the right information on certain issues like AI, DSP, data compression, Imaging, Neural Networks will be ur edge when u graduate.

the reason u dnt see the importance CE as of now is that it's not yet "in demand" so to speak but i reality people having that degree and excell's in it is rare.

but hey it's all up to u whether or not to stay or leave

... start by asking yourself - why shouldn't you? ... ano ba dahilan at confused ka? ... it has such a nice program - a practical one if you ask me ... with tie-ups in the industry in the various fields, medyo maganda hinaharap mo, i.e. cisco program being integrated with the program; TI also a contributor, etc.

... di ko sinasabi yan dahil faculty ako ng CE ... *bias set aside*

CE lang ang magandang course sa CCS diba? Ewan ko basta maganda program ng CE, only the toughest and the brainiest survive.Kaya you should be proud of it.Sa batch namin from 3 sections nung 1st year naging 1 1/2 na lang.50% nasipa, lumipat ng course, lumipat ng college o lumipat ng school.

so is CS-CE similar to CS-CSE? coz that's my first choice in la salle dunno if id pass... anyway, i dunno how well im gonna do by choosing that course since i chose it just because i dont want CPE alone or CS alone... CS-CSE sounds pleasant to me... now could you say that it is THAT hard?

Now greenDestiny is going for computer studies major in computer systems engineering. basically course content is the same. emphasis on a broader aspect of computer engineering. CS-CNE is more of a specific yet complex system/application of computer engineering specifically NETWORKING. by the way m going thru my course i'd say m in CSE track

let's see the level of difficulty in comparison with?
i think it's better for me to explain *** u will be facing rather than giving it a level.

basically First Year:
Computer Programming: u'll be using C as language variants included
Basic Computer Concepts: it's self explanatory. welcome to the world of 1's and 0's
Math: algebra
others: mga extra religion, socio, blah blah blah

that's for ur first term

pano ba bigyan ng level.

simple theorem for a CS-CE student:
CE is not hard just complex.
*** is complex composed of simple.
understand the simple wisely
u'll survive.

in short aral lang, may social life panaman.

hi! im from *** and i want to shift to comsci, i think cs-ce is a good course depends on what youre interested in...me im going for IT pero kse imspite na im currently crossenrolled in compsci course(basics) my cgpa 2.7 doesnt allow me to or if ever hinders my chances of shifting to comsci....
danhua: do you think *** na ko pagasa maka shift if ia pply for ext.shiftin this term for next term?i talked na with t he vice dean and gave her my other "credentials" to consider me for ccs...plus i even crossenrolled pa to ccs course to really show that i am willing to take up comsci.what else must i do?is ccs really narrowed down in choosing who gets in?

so, another question for ya... if you pass the entrance test, not with flying colors but as simple as pass, then, do you have the chance to enroll at that course or must you meet a required grade? i hope the dlsu test would be easy... errr, i dont hav an idea how well i did on acet and upcat... i know in upcat, i wont pass but with acet, prolly 30% chance hehehe... is UST's admission test easy? i mean easiest among the 4? my only wish is to pass both dlsu and admu... though im not making any reviews... hectic sked e...

well bad news there. u have to meet a certain quota. so that they would allow u to enter CCS. i think if m not mistaken the upper 2% of the upper quartile people are accepted. u need not worry about that as of now.

hi ... i'm not really sure about the rules and the processes you have to undergo ... but i guess you did the right move by going straight to the vice dean ... i'm just there part time and on evenings pa - so medyo huli ako sa mga patakaran ... sensya na po ...

anyways, from my understanding (though, may not be really accurate) there are several (not a handful) of you interested in getting in ... sad to say, the resources (i.e. classrooms, computers labs, faculty, etc.) we have in CCS isn't adequate for you guys interested in joining the college - unfair naman sa mga nakapasok na at nagbabayad kung yung saktong resources magiging kulang dahil kumuha ng sobrang studes, after all i guess its the quality of education rather than getting revenue ang important .... syempre kung may natatanggal, saka lang kayo makakapasok --- gets? and what is the most objective way of selecting from hundreds of applicants ba? di naman puwede idaan sa pagandahan diba ? so talagang grades would be the first and foremost basis for taking you in ...

I thought wala na CS-CE next year? sabi nila, kami na raw huling batch ng CS-CE e. ang info e ililipat daw sa College of Engineering ang Com Eng tapos papalitan ng Computer Systems Engineering (CS-CSE) yung sa CCS. Pareho lang ba yung CS-CE sa CS-CSE? anyway, malaki advantage ng CSCE, if i were you, i'd apply for it. hirap nga lang daw mag-stay sa CS-CE kase marami daw nagshi-shift.

what's CS CNE?

is it Network eng?

i have to do very good on that test....

i have another question... what if you pass yet among all the courses you chose, u weren't able to meet the required grade, does it mean a "no no"?

well that depends. if the quota was reached by every student who took the test then yes, but if not all the students were able to get the sufficient grade there will be i think some adjustments
