Wala pang reserved seats, una-unahan, first come first served.

Sharon to do a new show for TV5

HEARD that Megastar Sharon Cuneta will start a new show for TV5 to replace her “Kasama Mo Kapatid.” According to the grapevine, it will be a reality show like what she did on ABS-CBN.

The new show is entitled “Kanta Pilipinas” which sounds like a reality talent search to be produced by Marvin Agustin for TV 5 and will fall under the slot vacated by a Korean drama.

So there’s no truth to the rumor that Sharon will jump back to the Kapamilya network. Her contract with TV5 isn’t expired yet. Let’s welcome the Megastar with a show where she’s more at home and happier with.

    NORA VS VILMA AGAIN

NO amount of pleading from Nora Aunor drove fans to see her Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Thy Womb. It is still on the tail-end of the race, and with the figures sent by the MMDA, its producers might find it hard to recoup their investment.

But no matter, there’s no stopping the rivalry between her and now Batangas Governor Vilma Santos. We gathered that Ate Vi will soon start her first indie film under Quantum Films of Atty. Joji Alonzo which is geared towards the yearly Cinemalaya filmfest to be directed by Jeffrey Jeturian. Titled Extra, Ate Vi is excited to do it after six years of arriving into the decision. On the other hand, Guy will be doing another Brilliante Mendoza film also for the Cinemalaya and perhaps, the Oscars (for best foreign language film) with Coco Martin, hopefully as lead actor.

Kris Aquino says she is "done" with MMFF movies

    Nerisa Almo
    Thursday, January 03, 2013

    Sinabi ng Sisterakas actress at co-producer, “Save this please, i’m done. Achieved 3rd in 2010, 2nd in 2011 & 1st in 2012.”

Dagdag pa niya, “Kasi, noong 2010, number three ako. Noong 2011 na festival, number two. So, it’s about time na this time, number one.”

LAST YEAR OF ABS-CBN CONTRACT.

Ayon sa kanyang Twitter post, “Last year of my ABS contract, my 18th year w/ ABS- want to make it special & meaningful.”

SEEN SCENE (Pilipino Star Ngayon) | Updated January 4, 2013

Posted by Kakulay Entertainment Blog ⋅ January 3, 2013

Posted by Kakulay Entertainment Blog ⋅ January 3, 2013

“Sisterakas” (Star Cinema and Viva Films) is a shamelessly “money-trip” movie, driven purely by profit. It is ironic that the backdrop of the story of this movie is the fashion world which is supposed to be about class and taste, but this movie is a twisted celebration of poor taste.

“The greatest disgrace of “Sisterakas” is Kris Aquino. Someone should have told her doing comedy is far more difficult than drama or horror. She could not deliver a punch line and her movements were awkward.”

Cinema One presents Piolo’s best romantic films
    Updated January 5, 2013

Piolo Pascual films will be featured on the channel’s Romance Central Block, Sunday nights at 6

Get your weekly dose of heart-fluttering Piolo Pascual films on Cinema One this month as it presents the award winning actor-singer on the channel’s Romance Central Block, Sunday nights at 6. Watch out for his films 9 Mornings, Paano Kita Iibigin, Milan and Till There Was You.

The 2002 film by Jose Javier Reyes, 9 Mornings, is a romantic comedy film starring Piolo and Donita Rose. He plays Gene, the workaholic obsessive-compulsive event organizer who has a tragic past that resulted to his loss of faith and belief in God. The conflict begins when his late grandmother leaves him wealth in a condition that he should complete the nine dawn-masses (simbang gabi), a religious practice he abhors. 9 Mornings airs tomorrow, Jan. 6.

Paano Kita Iibigin is Joyce Bernal’s 2007 film starring Piolo and Regine Velasquez that revolves around the romance between Martee (Regine), a bAroke and recently unemployed single mother and Lance (Piolo) a rich and arrogant resort owner. The two meet when Martee decides to flee from the city to find comfort in Lance’s resort where Martee’s son accidentally damages an expensive motorcycle prompting her to work for Lance as payment for the damages. Paano Kita Iibigin which also stars Eugene Domingo, Erich Gonzales and Iya Villania marked the first time that Piolo worked with Viva Films and the first time that Regine worked with Star Cinema. It airs on Jan. 13.

The 2004 blockbuster hit, Milan, directed by Olivia Lamasan and shot in different cities in Italy stars Piolo and Claudine Barretto and mirrors the life of Filipino migrant workers who found love and refuge in each other. Piolo and Claudine’s performance as Lino and Jenny garnered them the prestigious Best Actor and Best Actress awards in FAMAS while the film was nominated for Best Picture. According to a review on Showbizpinoy.com, “Piolo was able to convey various layers of emotions in the most effective manner all throughout the movie. You feel his sadness, desperation and helplessness in this foreign land.” The film also stars Iza Calzado, Ryan Eigenmann and Lotlot de Leon and airs on Jan. 20.

Piolo and Judy Ann Santos stars in their third blockbuster hit Till There Was You directed by Joyce Bernal. A short bus ride begins the romantic film where Joanna (Judy Ann) leaves a book with her photograph in it, picked and kept hidden through the years by Albert (Piolo), a single father. Joanna was drawn into the lives of Albert and his daughter Pippa when the latter saw her by chance and remembered her face in the photograph that she always thought was her long-lost mother. Till There Was You airs on Jan. 27.

Two years daw ang pipirmahan nito.

Agad-agad! Dapat may manliligaw muna na matiyaga, magka-BF then buntis.

I’m done. Achieved 3rd in 2010, 2nd in 2011 and 1st in 2012.”

    MVP STILL OPTIMISTIC DESPITE LOSSES

IN an interview, TV5 chairman Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) has confessed that his network incurred more than P5 billion losses last year.

It is for this reason that the Kapatid Network is reworking its program grid this year.

One is repositioning and reformatting the network’s flag carrier show, Willie Revillame’s “Wil Time Big Time,” which will be moved to a noontime slot with a new title, “Wowowillie.”

The network is also producing new shows, like “Kidlat” starring Derek Ramsay and other big drama programs which the management hope could bring in more revenues to cut its losses. Money begets money, so they say.

While it is too big to recoup sooner than how TV5 people think, MVP is still optimistic that their huge losses will decrease in the years to come.

“Wowowillie” will face a tough competition in the long-running “Eat Bulaga” on GMA7 (again!) and with a new format (and state-of-the-art studio), they’re more daring now.

EB seems unfazed, but what about “Showtime?” Well, is it time for ABS-CBN to make its own repositioning and reformatting? It’s showwwtime...
