My first run race was Run to Build on May 2011.

Why? Goal kong makatapos ng 5k kahit isang beses. Na-inggit kasi ako kay princekc na adik sa 5k then and byakuya ng swim team.

Naaya ko si princekc and byakuya which was so exciting then kasi wala akong ibang maaya.

I prep by running 15 mins to 30 min every other morning 2 weeks before the race.

My first run race was InsuRUNce on October 14, 2012

Why? Gusto ko kasi pumayat, haha. Nagpa-reg ako para ma-motivate mag training.

What prep? Tumakbo ako ng 2 weeks before the race pero weekends lang yun. So 4 mornings lang. Hehe.

Result of my first race? Hingal na hingal as expected. Haha.

nayaya yata ako ni groundbreak. it was the slimmerun 2011 na hindi ko naman pinuntahan! umuulan kasi eh!

preparation: well, bumili ako ng bagong running shoes, tumakbo sa treadmill, and more leg exercise! \o/

i finished my first 5k (i think it was takbo.ph run-niversary) in about 48minutes? but from there, nag-train talaga ako ng maayos for endurance and strength. so far, my fastest 5K was in boracay run 2012, approximately 31minutes yata yun!

Result: For some weird reason, inantok ako. LOL

My first run race was Run for Integrity on May 2011.

I joined this fun run kase na-inspire lang ako sa kakilala who is into running.

I prepared that race by running 5k twice a week, 1 month before the race.

The result was great! Actually, since its my first time to join fun runs, akala ko bawal maglakad during the race. Kung meron man, very rare lang and very short walk lang talaga. And another funny thing is, hindi ko pa uli nagagawa yun. So yung first ever 5k ko, yun din ang PR ko for that distance. Hindi ko pa sya nabi-beat until now..

sabi nila, all you need to get a fire burning is a spark.

so the spark that started my running career (career talaga?!) was San Mig Bay Run 2010 held in MOA. 3k. pambata. bata pa kase ako nun. haha.

i didn't have to train naman (ang OA lang) but i was already doing short runs kase every MWF mornings a few weeks before that. as advised by the doctor, i needed to do some cardio/aero before i think of lifting weights.

i think i had a decent enough finish naman at 21:17.

800M Run District Amateur Meet 1994

It was my first race ever. My school would eventually win the overall district championship and later gold medals in the nationals but right now I am scared as hell.

Tough looking guys giving an aura of confidence.

I joined the track team a few weeks before this meet. I was GREEN, and looked green as well. I feel green.

I readied myself and assumed the position.

At the crack of the gun I ran full sprint to the catch up with the leaders, I was at the area of lane 5. This strategy would have been OK have I received the proper conditioning given to an 800M runner alas this is baptism by fire. My lungs are on fire! My shoes for cross training.

Most of the runners are either wearing spikes or running shoes.

By the time we hit the 400M my shoes felt like lead! MY lungs felt dry, painful. Stitches at my side.

By the time we hit the 600M mark I saw my opening. At around 20th place I sped up to half a sprint. At around 14th place I went 3/4 sprint, by the time we hit the Last 50M everyone was at full sprint. I crossed the line at 8th place.

They say you cannot forget your first run. I agree but in my case, I could never forget the feeling of it. I crossed and almost fainted, I could barely breathe. I could barely keep standing. it was a miserable feeling.

2 days later my coach ordered us to run 5km around the school

My first run was Phoenix Run for the Youth (September 2, 2012), 5k. LOL. I finished it in more than an hour. LOL. LOL. My next run would be this Sunday (NB Power Run), 10k na. My naka-schedule pa akong 3 races after. Haha. Adik lang.

Run for Japan 2011. This was the running that started it all for me. It was in this race that I overcame my fear of "running because soon thereafter I will lose my breath". My run was smooth, got to meet a friend in the process. I got a bit wet too.

Talking my first fun run ever

    hello!!!

sumali ako sa fun run dahil natripan ko lang, dahil online lang ako magdamag that time... pero dahil natuwa ako sa mga singlet at medals na pwede kong makuha after a run napaisip ako na "siguro ito na yung time na mag diet na ako at magkaron ng healthy lifestyle" after ilang days nag register agad ako sa 3 fun run (no idea ako pagdating sa mga kilometers) hehehe anyway yung first run ko:

IM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!! charot! hehehe na naka abot ako ng finish line it was a great experience for me na gusto kong ulit ulitin...

    PREPARATION a week before:
    - exercise

*kanina ang 2nd run ko @ the red crab
*next week sa nike 10k na yun!
    hope to see you there

    thank you PEX
credits to cj lampad for entertaining me
