Halos lahat naman ng teams ngayon competitive, kahit walang mga star player palaban din. Lalo na ngayong me import dyan magkakatalo kung sino ang mas effective at agresibong import yan ang me advantage.

Speaking of ex-PGs, 3 of BMEG's 4 point guards from last year's Philippine Cup pala is now with Barako Bull - Roger Yap, Josh Urbiztondo, and Jonas Villanueva. Si Barroca lang naiwan.

I am not sure kung kasali pa rin si Celino Cruz sa lineup this conference ng Barako Bull but isa pa syang PG na naglaro before with Purefoods.

YAP, SIMON AND PINGRIS ARE 'UNTOUCHABLES'
By Snow Badua Published: Jan/25/2013 9:37 AM PHT

SAN MIG COFFEE GOVERNOR RENE PARDO: “JAMES, PJ AND PING ARE NOT INCLUDED IN ANY TRADE TALKS.”

MANILA - There’s no trade involving James Yap or any of the San Mig Coffee Mixers.

In the light of rumors circulating in several basketball fora in the internet, San Mig Governor Rene Pardo was quick to douse off the fire.

“No, that’s not true. Bakit naming i-te-trade si James?”, responded the amiable team official on different trade stories circulating that say Yap was traded to Meralco and even to Barangay Ginebra.

In fact, Pardo did not even bother to articulate the Mixers’ stand on Yap and two other marquee players, Marc Pingris and Peter June Simon, as untouchables.

“James, PJ and Ping are not included in any trade talks,” reiterated Pardo.

“Sa ngayon wala kaming plano to trade them, in the future siguro when they’re old. Pero hindi pa rin natin alam, depende,” shared the longtime Purefoods franchise boss.

As of the moment, Pardo admits there’s nothing more on their trading table after the team’s involvement in the 5-team, 10-player swap Tuesday.

In the said transaction, San Mig acquired rookies Lester Alvarez, Alex Mallari and former NCAA MVP Leo Najorda, while losing JC Intal, Jonas Villanueva and Aldrech Ramos.

“More or less, that's it. Yung trade bigla namang lumalabas. Like the other day, bigla lang inalok yun. Kaya bigla rin naming na pag desisyunan”, said Pardo, a multi-titled PBA executive.

As they aim to defend their Commissioner’s Cup crown, Pardo said they are not pressuring their players.

Instead, they rally the team to prove something.

“We never pressure the team, basta we just tell them we’re the defending champs, it would be nice if we’d be very competitive again. Bonus na kung mag champion,” said Pardo

“If TNT can get three All-Filipino cup titles straight, it won’t be bad to wish for back-to-back Commissioners Cup crowns for San Mig.” [KNQ]

Wala ba tayong scheduled tune-up games jan?

  7. #1907
Salamat sa mga nakapuna ng 2nd game schedules natin. Mas masaya ako kung mai-defend natin ang title kasi yun ang mas importante.

The Energy Colas have added four new players on their squad – JC Intal, Jonas Villanueva, Jojo Duncil and Allein Maliksi – as part of the multi-player, five-team trade deal last Tuesday.

Barako Bull will also have one returning player, Don Allado, who will be back after a conference of suspension.

“But we will be missing JC Intal in the first few games because of injury while our players are still adjusting to the new system,” said Toroman
