GMA Network brings back the drama anthology Magpakailanman to warm the hearts of Kapuso viewers once more. It will once again be hosted by veteran broadcast journalist Mel Tiangco.


Magpakailanman, an original concept and creation of the GMA Entertainment TV Group, initially ran from 2002 to 2007 and has twice been awarded the Best Drama Series category at the Catholic Mass Media Awards. During its five-year run, the program--which was a consistent top-rater--aimed to promote good family values and inspire Filipinos.


According to GMA-7's corporate communications department, the drama anthology returns on air due to growing clamor to revive the program. The Kapuso Network promises new elements and more in-depth investigation and dramatization of real-life inspired stories.


Aside from merely telling and narrating the story, Mel Tiangco will take a more participative role in making each story not only inspiring and uplifting but also informative and interesting. This will be "the real story behind the story."


In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), host Mel Tiangco said that she gave a lot of input to the development of the show.


"We want the show na talagang kapupulutan ng tao ng something good for himself—whether it is aspirational, whether it is informative lang sa kanya, or it is a morale booster.


"Gusto namin, may mapapala yung televiewer sa panonood at hindi lang manonood ng drama, hindi lang ganoon."


For the pilot episode of Magpakailanman, Ms. Mel revealed that they have plans of showcasing the story of Katrina Halili. Find out the new elements of this drama anthology show when Magpakailanman premieres this November 2012 on GMA-7.

dapat iba-iba kada buwan at dapat with matching costumes to complete the scene


JANUARY - dahil bagong taon, palakarin sya sa isang lugar na nagsasabugan mga paputok (labintador, sinturon ni hudas, dinamita etc etc) with matching fireworks sa kalangitan. costume nya baby na nakalampin to signify new year.

FEBRUARY - buwan ng mga puso. As Cupida, maglalakad-lakad sya sa Pasay na ang background ay yung mga motels like Victoria Court, Wise, King Arthur's etc etc...

MARCH - graduation month. sa gilid-gilid ng PICC sya maglalakad-lakad kung saan madalas ganapin mga graduation rites. pwede din sa mga universities like UST, Ateneo, DLSU o UP campus. naka-toga sya syempre.

APRIL - Semana Santa. palakarin sa mga holy sites. mag-ala santa-santita o di kaya April fool's day. palakarin sa mga carnival, peryahan o sa mga theme parks. obvious na dapat naka-clown costume

MAY - summertime! balik sya sa dalampasigan this time sa mga famous beaches...Boracay, Palawan, Pagudpud etc etc...pwede nya isuot ulit yung dati nyang costume. no to two-piece ha.

JUNE - weddings. palakarin sa aisle ng mga simbahan na animo'y sya ay ikakasal. with flower arrangement and everything. perfect! pwede ding Independence day special. maglakad-lakad sa mga historical places like Luneta, Leyte, Batangas etc..

JULY - festival month. SINULOG DE TANJAY, LIBON PAROY FESTIVAL, HUDYAKA FESTIVAL, SANDUGO FESTIVAL to name a few...maglakad-lakad sa mga streets habang may mga festive parades sa background with street dancing etc. mala-ati-atihan si Tita Mel dito.

AUGUST - month of calamities. palakarin sa gitna ng mga baha, unos, mas effective kung babalik sa dalampasigan to witness the tidal waves, tsunamis...no to sirena costumes. any outfit will do.

SEPTEMBER - start of BER months. simoy pasko. slight christmas spirit. pwede syang maglakad-lakad sa malls. animoy nagwiwindow-shopping.

OCTOBER - prelude to November month. since October naman ang Halloween, pwede na umpisahan dito ang horror. costumes, pumpkins, monsters, vampires, witches, werewolves, ghosts, scary tales ang peg. sa horror house muna palakarin.

NOVEMBER - palakarin sa mga sementeryo. araw ng mga patay. horror month kumbaga. costume ni Tita Mel, zombie o isang aswang.

DECEMBER - it's Christmas! pwedeng indoor ito pero di sya nakaupo. maglalakad-lakad pa din na naka Lady Santa. mas ok kung sa snow sya maglalakad-lakad.
